i'd be interested in getting some black wheels for the Pajero, if anyone knows of a place that might have them. i'm pretty unfamiliar with it, so i don't know what wheel and tire options there are.

and thanks for the bearing list Tex!

You can get these at RCMart, $30 for 4 wheels, alloy.

HPI makes some rims too.

So instead of plastic to plastic contact, we now have the steering shaft riding on ballbearings...

You don't "need" it, but we are just looking for trouble as usual... got to "do something to the RC", you know!!

Finally got everything sorted out with Tower Hobbies. Turns out they charged me for in stock and back ordered items.

I was called today by Tower and talked to the customer service manager. After working out the account details and without asking, I was told the Pajero would ship April 1st!!!

That's really unusual for Towers. Unless they already had the pajero for a while and Tamiya told them they can't release til a certain date?

You can always preorder without cost at Towers. Since they're really just Hobbico there is no risk in getting stuck with an item like a normal shop.

I'm stoked for this as well. I have an XB pajero body I'm running now on my XC, but I have the hardbody all painted and ready to go. Thing is, I'm missing almost all the rest of the body parts. Tamiya emailed me saying all the parts will be available, so I can FINALLY finish this thing. SO EXCITED! Time for a light kit!

Hey LB, I did a similar mod to mine, using flanged bearings. However, I had some left over steering parts when I built the Hilux because I didn't use the 4 wheel steering. I have to run out now, but I will post pictures of the parts later today. I have a spare XC chassis and when I was eyeballing things, they look like a direct fit, no need for sloppy JB weld. The shape and measurements look almost identical to the stock parts, plus the metal shaft with the teeth on the end looks to be the same diameter as the metal shaft we both used for the BB mod. I may build another 'Jero anyway and try this.

Okay I'll stop rambling until I have pics...

You need 2.2 Rims. If it clears the wheel well it should be fine.
