SMART BUYPower supply
Hey guys, Im looking for a good deal on a power supply. I have a Hyperion EOS 5i, charging lipo's at 5 amps. I have been looking arround for one, but I'm still not sure which one is suitable for my setup.I don't want an expensive power supply that is over powered for my little 5 amp hyperion. I have been charging off my automobile, since the charger only has the 12v aligator clamps. Anyhow if you guys point me in the right dirrection, it be most appreciated.

RE: SMART BUYPower supply
yeah converting a PC powersupply works best (around $30), it's a lot cheaper than an R/C branded powersupply for $100!!! If you're not into the whole converting thing I'll convert one for you and send it to you if you pay for it.

contact this guy at rcgroups.

i bought a power supply from him for $35 and ive been using it for over a year.
i can charge up to 19 amps with it (4 batteries at a time, easy).
he guarantees it for i think 6 months if i remember correctly
he sells different models so just tell him what your specific needs are and he will deliver.

RE: SMART BUYPower supply
Well, I wasn't going to build my own power supply, BUT I found two old computers at work today. I think it might be intresting to build my own, I can customize the supply that works best for needs. I going to search the treads for treads on power supplies. If you guys could drop a link that would be great too. Thanks guys..

RE: SMART BUYPower supply
Chances are the computers are old and the power supplies aren't very powerful. Make sure to read the sticker on the case and see how many amps it is capable of delivering at +12v. 5 amps and less is borderline useless.
Here's how to convert one for RC use:
