Default One of my buggies

Rc10B4 Mamba max esc. Peak 3.5 Brushless Vantage. Spectrum DX3r and micro rec. 3c lipo 4800mah. This thing will kick up dirt better than my REVO 3.3 I actually like my peak brushless better than my 3.5r Novak. I race on a small track so I take out the 3.5 drag strip motor and put in my Lrp 13.5 Vector for races. I also use a 2c lipo @5000mah. I will usually go up to 87 spur and down to 17t pinion seems to do good for me.

I have a bushnell radar, I can test to see. I would say with 27turn colbalt and gp3300mah Very low 30's,high 20's with this set up as listed I am getting 60's mph on short block tests. I think if i pushed it i would be 70's for sure but this really pushes the esc to get very hot.

There's no comparison between a B4 and a Rustler. Just price some brushless systems and you'll have your answer, any other parts will be completely different in terms of price and such. This statement covers your second post too, speed depends on more factors than what brushless system you have, plus on the track, you DON'T want top speed. For one, you can't even get top speed on most tracks given the space provided, secondly, you need control on the track.

hspower what is your set up? You can still run crazy brushless on the track with a Mamba Max and any brushless. Just set you throttle curve to control track. With my set up i can go up or down at will. Thats what makes it nice. even on the VXL you have three settings to help control speed. Plus you can limit speed on transmitter as well.

smax311....Buy it! This is a very adaptable car here is why. Change arms and a few small pieces + body and have a truggy. Put road tires on have a great parking lot racer. And then go dirt and race! This is true to other buggies as well, however I would buy this before the t4 ( I have both). I think there is great value in the RTR version.

Smaller spur faster top speed likewise larger spur slower top speed. Pinions smaller less top speed larger faster top speed. I think rpm sales a tooth kit odd & even where you can buy like 8 at once. I think associated only has 4 spurs for this car. I have to think many others are available and will fit.

For what it its worth I am also running the mamab 5700kv in my XXX-BK2. Standard spur with 17T pinion and find it is a good gearing.
Oh yeah, running 2s2p 4700mah Lipo cells
