I really hope its not another version of the XXX-T/Speed-T/Desert Truck/Slider. Losi really needs a whole needs a whole new truck instead of re-releasing the same one with small changes and a different body.

I'd gladly take a rehash of an old version if they would install a brushless proof trans, I strip idler gears.....

It's not that tight, it slips for several feet on full throttle takeoff on concrete. I'd like to be able to use the brushless power without the trans failing. All they need to do is make a steel idler like some others do, I like the truck but this is a weak spot that could be easily fixed. My E Firestorm and Slash on 3s take way more abuse with no problems, I run 7 cells with the Xcellerin 6400 system in the DT. I boiled the new idler gear so we'll see if that holds up any better.....

thats odd i would think the idler gear would only strip if the slipper is to tight?? try and see if any other trucks have a steel idler and see if it will fit it might be worth a try. the dt use the same trans as the xxx-t and i have seen them take 3.5 turn bl motors with no problem at all

I run brushless in my xxx-cr and xxx-t cr with no tranny issues . I recently switched to lipo and no issues at all . Usually idler gear problems are from running slipper to tight .

I can see that if your running on dirt where the traction is less, I'm running short grass with Gladiator tires so the traction is very high along with the shock loads from uneven ground. I ran it for quite a few runs with the stock tires with no problem but they spin like crazy, it's in a constant slide with poor control. The Gladiators and step pins I use really hook up. I have an old XXT I installed a MM in and it broke the diff or idler gear evey few runs which had the slipper and the hydradrive on it. I burn't the slipper on that running it loose. Gave up on it and bought an E Firestorm, no tranny probems there with the same MM system. I was hoping the DT had stronger gears but it appears not, at least the gear diff has so far held up. Not sure what other idler gear might fit with the 2.43 ratio, any other trucks run that trans ratio?

It will be a losi 1/10 scale late model car only seems logical.
Since they came out with a 1/10th sprint, and 1/18th sprint and late model.
I don't think they are going to go into a Corr class from what I heard

They just came out with the "L8IGHT Model" which is a 1/8th nitro late model...do they really need a 1/18, 1/8, and 1/10th of the same vehicle? Maybe, but I doubt it. I am hoping for a direct competitor to the Slash because I am thinking about getting a Slash and competition is always good!

i am in the same boat. trying to choose between the slash and desert truck. i like both. the local track now has a slash class but the desert isnt allowed.

if it is a corr truck i hope they follow with the desert and include the same spek controller.

Losi is trying to make a whole new class. That is why they have a 1/18, 1/10, and 1/8 oval cars.

What about the replacement for the Baja? Wouldn't be much of a release; just put a new body on it. I wouldn't call it a "new vehicle", but that might be a legal necessity to step out of the trademark infringement issue with VW

Whatever it is, it will generate more discussion and forum messages BEFORE anyone gets their hands on it than is warranted

Regards

That is what I am hoping for too...basically a slash with a spektrum reciever! A BL motor would be awesome too, but no way they include that for only $180.
