The Losi 8ight E has arrived!
Here's a couple vids I shot of it during initial testing. You can hear me laugh every time it does something impressive, like LEAPING off the wooden ramp, or spinning the tires HALF the way down the straight!

RE: The Losi 8ight E has arrived!
I've got both, and love each for various reasons. I picked up the 8ight E primarily for the convenience of brushless and lipo, with the ballistic speed and tank-like durability of 8th scale. I got the original 8ight when it first came out, and loved it. So I knew this car would fly! I had my first race with it this past weekend; couldn't have gone better. Of the 5 buggies that were there, all were nitro but me, and 3 were sponsored drivers. I came in third in the main, and turned the second fastest lap in the first heat. I've been nothing but pleased with the car, and would recommend it to anyone.

I got the car w/ electronics for under $700, just needed steering servo, receiver and battery. I got the losi balancing charger and battery for under $300. I got everything from Amain hobbies, with a 10% discount. It came as a roller with the motor and ESC installed. All I had to do was install my control system, and charge the battery.

It retails for $219, but Amain has them for $200. If you add in the 10% discount they sent out via e-mail, that's $180. Also, there's a company selling "Zippy" brand packs. The same size battery, just not in a hard case, for $79.00, with a balance port.

I've just been told it comes with a different setup than I was told the first time I asked. This came from Todd Hodge, so I'm pretty sure he's right, and the tech dept I got an e-mail from was simply quoting what's in the nitro version roller:

Thank you! I consider 8th scale buggies the F-1 of off road RC racing. Add brushless and lipo to that already fast nature; you end up with THAT! I hope this will take off. It would be a great club level race class. Very little maintenance, tank-like durability, and awesome speed/handling! The only thing missing, is the sound... so I make them with my mouth...

We race (1/8 scale buggies and truggies) every other weekend at the Washtenaw Track in the Winter....
(a few exhibition races happen in this neck of the woods in the summer, but Dan runs a point series)
You can follow the action via a track link at www.RCProductDesigns.com
Dan was involved in the 1/8 conversion from the ground floor...... Now that the main stream crowd are catching on, look for the action to really take off.

I wish there was a track around here. My next vehicle purchase is going to be a BL buggy after seeing that thing. Think I'll stick with 1/10 though.

That buggy needs a bigger track to really show what it is made of.

I don't know what's going on, but I can't see the last post in this thread?! I can see where "Divine" posted on the main thread listing, but I can't see it!

RE: The Losi 8ight E has arrived!
We're gonna race on road this weekend, so I won't have any new pics of the 8ight E. I am hoping, that my body will be back from the paint booth in time to race in two weeks. Then I'll shoot more vids. I should also have my new ESC fan, nylon spur, and Losi 13T pinion. The Novak pinon is just too darn loud! I figure with the much more quiet Losi pinion, and Kyosho nylon spur, it shouldn't be any louder than an 8th scale flaming out and coasting.

They do make a distinct noise, from my point of view more palatable, especially for indoor tracks.
My vids show some of the Washtenaw Track indoor (winter), and other local Michigan outdoor action (summer) along with the sounds of the action (point being you can clearly hear the Race Director call the action).
Feel free to check out www.Handyracing.com and let us know what you think.......
The Washtenaw season starts in a few weeks, stay tuned for more action from the coming season.
