Get a used motor comm cutter. You could get by with something other than an actual comm cutter, but you need something that can only remove a small bit of the copper on the comm and I don't imagine anything from a wood shop or such would do it. I got a used Comm lathe (and lots of spare brushes, etc.) on ebay for $40 for the whole thing, some cheaper out there.

I was looking at that direction, using that kind of motors...but in my part of the globe, no one use it (because of the lack of R/C)...but I have a big question...I will use those lathe a few times, until the commutator are going off...and then?[:-] Could I find somewhere a new comm???...Or a motor is only rebuildable of limited times ???

A motor starts off at about .300 comm life. Everytime you cut it, say it is about 5 runs it will take about .003 off. The comm is done when it is at around .260. So more often doesnt mean more expensive because if you only cut the comm once every month it will be way outof shape abd beeds alot of cutting to get it around.
