Stock motors, what's legal?
I want to get into stadium trucks. Are 13.5 turn brushless motors the ROAR approved motor for stock classes or is it 17.5? Also, I've seen some motors rated, for instance, as 4600kv. How does this equate to number of turns? Or maybe they are unrelated, I obviously don't know much about this yet. Thanks for any input.

RE: Stock motors, what's legal?
The ones that say 4600, etc. are normally sensoreless motors. Sensored motors are like 13.5, etc. but they still do have a kv rating which isnt important though. Stock is 17.5. The best 17.5 motor is the Novak 17.5. For the best brushed motor, the co27. Normally a 4600 is equal to a 10 turn motor but it isnt ROAR legal.
BTW: Get a XXX-T!

But either the T4 or XXX-t CR are good, or there are x factory and kyosho to look at. if your racing indoor i would get the T4.

Actually Chris the castle creation motors are now ROAR legal. I say the lrp sphere competition esc and a novak 17.5 for stck or 13.5 for super stock is the smoothest set-up out right now.

I've been looking a Motor/Esc combos. I'd like to find a happy medium between quality and pricetag. I know you get what you pay for but sometimes you pay a lot more for a name. Bearing in mind I'm only a weekend racer at a local level, does anyone make good, midrange product?
