Ordered a rustler vxl now I want to get some alloy parts for it. What are the good ones to get? I want shock towers for sure but dont know which brand is the best. I seen a bunch of integy parts but I also seen some people say integy is junk.

Nice which parts do you recommend getting. I liked the look of polished alloy tho oh well.

my stampede has all the rpm parts, there cheap and rarely break!, so the strength of aluminum without bending for a 1/4 of the price, rpm is the king when it comes to hop-ups for traxxas vechicles

I'd recommend getting an aluminum bulkhead from fastlane machine, also an aluminum transmission case. Aluminum castor block as well, maybe bearing carriers wouldn't be a bad idea, I have traxxas ones. RPM front bumper,a-arms, and shock towers. They say you want your shock towers to flex a little. I personally have an aluminum rear, but for different purposes.

When you say you want to make it bulletproof, are you planning on shooting it?

i have rpm front bumper, rpm castors, rpm bearing carriers and pretty much it is bulletproof...they are tough trucks...i have had several crahsed on 3s power that it has come away from fine...

one thing i did was move the reciever onto the esc plate and moved the esc over on the plate so they are both on that plate...this keeps the reciever away from the side of the chassis incase i hit something sideway's

Yeah takin the .45 to it lol. No just want to make it stout I dont want to make some parts too stiff tho which would mess up more things. Sounds like what you are talking about tho is what im looking for. I had seen 1 guy with a brand new vxl break the tranny case I think it was.

Did you just drill out the stock plate or was there an after market 1 to fit both. Guess I should wait till I get my truck to ask some things also it comes in wed or fri at the latest.

stock plate i used super glue to mount the reciever and esc on it it..the esc is facing front to back now instead of side to side so i managed to fit both on it...it's a lot safer..i did this after i cracked a reciever in half when i hit my rustler sideway's into a tree..it's a lot safer...

Where do you guys order the fastlane parts? I see there are 2 different tranny cases on their website also which 1 is best?

Say I hit somethin hard with the rpm a-arms if it wrong break something else like the chassis will instead of the arms now? Just making sure they are a good idea lol. Hopefully if they flex it will help.

+1 You should get the aluminum bulkhead and transmission head like above. Then you should get RPM A-Arms, wide front bumper, and shock towers. Then you should get these aluminum parts from Traxxas: Bearing carriers on all four corners, bellcrank system, castor blocks, and the set of turnbuckles/links for all for corners, two in the Rear and 4 up front.

If you do this your Truck will be just about impossible to break, handle really well and precise, have a perfect mixture of RPM and aluminum for a medium weight, and look sweet! Then all you need is a new custom body........

Thx ill be purchasing this stuff before long. Any one know a good lipo charger still need one of those too.

vxl doesnt have steel yokes? I remember my friend tearing up the yokes on his rustler back in 96.

Here is how you make a bullet proof VXL. Been there, done that, and got the T-shirt...

Fastlane Machine Chassis
Fasltane Machine Bulkhead & Top Plate
Fastlane Machine Tranny (This is a must have, you just have to experience it - ninja quiet and smooth as butter).
RPM Arms Front & Rear
RPM Shock Tower Front & Rear
Traxxas Alum Bearing Carriers Front & Rear
RPM Bumper
Traxxas Talons

If you get those parts, the car is damn near indestructible. I have lost count of the 60+ mph cartwheels and curb kissing that I have done with no breaks. You basically want flexible parts around the edges.

Oh yeah... you gotta get a swami-rc.com wheelie bar. The original and best...

You also want to get the aluminum castor blocks from Traxxas too...

The aluminum turnbuckles are cool, but I actually like the non adjustable RPM turnbuckles better. They won't break.

Edumakated, I see you have the swami bar, is it the laid back stlye or full bend? How high are the front wheels when it wheelies?
