Savage Flux vs. E-Revo brushless
Hey guys, just doing some winter dreaming about my next rc vehicle. Wha are your opinions on the Savage Flux vs the E-Revo brushless? One big advantage I see for the E-Revo is the 2.4ghz radio. Other than that I don't know much about the Savage to compare the two.

RE: Savage Flux vs. E-Revo brushless
The Savage looks to be a heavy duty beast. Initial reaction (they have just been released to the public) is that they have nailed it. Drivetrain is tough and heavily built for brushless, truck is a savage so it was gonna be tough anyway. The E-revo has been delayed because they were having drivetrain issues (plastic driveshafts snapping), but it's a sweet truck. It looks like it's going to be more expensive than the Flux, probably due to the 2.4ghz radio.
On the track there isn't much question that the Revo will be faster, but the Savage will be the bashers weapon of choice.

I just saw the savage flux at my lhs, its sooo sweet. you can run two 3s lipos in it, and the battery compartments look a lot bigger than the revo's.

RE: Savage Flux vs. E-Revo brushless
E-revo. Better handling, nicer suspension setup, plenty durable, 2.4ghz. The E-revo can take a real beating. The only thing it doesn't have is an aluminum chassis. But the Savage Flux comes with 4 super long plastic shocks. With the E-revos small 4 aluminum shocks it gets the same travel. My friends E-savage shocks are horrible, and he is lucky enough to have all 8 of them, unlike the Flux that only has 4... I have always been a Savage fan, and always will be, but the E-revo is the better car IMO.

[X(] Wait, so the E-Revo has PLASTIC driveshafts? Well, Traxxas quality I guess!
Id go with the Savage Flux in a heatbeat! The E-Savage is just sooo much diferent than the Flux. Do you guys actually think the e revo's 2.4ghz radio is actually an upgrade? You still dont have any features that everyones wants, and all it does it jack the price up.
Always Dreamin, You know that more shocks arent better? They are actually worse. It just adds weight and if the 4 shocks have a good wt. shocks oil/pistons/rebound it is way better than 8 shocks.

I'll probably pick up a Savage Flux on Tuesday if my LHS gets them in, I'll post some opinions then. It's looking like a great truck though.

The New Savage Flux looks like a great truck for hc bashing, i ordered mine from rc-planet.[8D]
E-Revos are great trucks too and handling is good, but i thing the savys are tougher for bashing.

silly people
THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME MOTOR AND ESC!! they are both MMM v3's with the CC 2200kv motor.
2.4 radio is a big plus..but it's still traxxas[:@]
the revo is a great truck, but you have to rip out the bad/weak parts first.

are you THAT blind??
HPI buy and re-badge castle's ESC's.
the so called e-firestorm flux's ESC is just a castle sidewinder.
the so called HPI "blur" is a MMM v3 from castle, the motor is a 2200kv castle motor based on a neu 1515 1y!!!!

RE: Savage Flux vs. E-Revo brushless
haha the 1/5 scale bajas only have 4 shocks and they seem to get along fine I'm sure the revo would handle better on a track, but it is sort of like a stadium truck to me it really doesn't look like anything real at all. The savage isn't exactly what you'd call scale either but at least it's a better looker. I think the drivetrain will be stouter as well. The only thing I wish is that they would make a ss version of it later in kit form.

RE: Savage Flux vs. E-Revo brushless
The Savage Flux is based off of one of the greatest bashing MT's on the market.
The E-Revo is based off of a racing MT.
So decided for yourself and get what you want. You will not be disappointed with whichever one you chose. One thing I do find interesting is that Traxxas decided to go with the Mamba Monster as the ESC for the Revo instead of designing their own like they did with the VXL systems.

RE: Savage Flux vs. E-Revo brushless
I'd like to see a mag comparo!
I read that the Savage Flux does 62mph on 6s lipo vs the E-Revo at 50+ (still nothing to sneeze at).

RE: Savage Flux vs. E-Revo brushless
those HPI plastic big bores look pretty sweet i may be picking up a set cuz the Al's are uber expensive, and IMO the flux will rock the e-revo box stock, yeah the revo will out handle the flux but i think the flux will do a better job at getting the power to the ground, it has some great tires, HPI's strongest diffs, thickest dogbones and a chassie that has yet to fail, and i'd bet a pretty penny that a flux will do a good job at keeping up with the e-revo on track, i've head some great things about the big bores, on nitro savages, and besides if anything the savage can just run over the e-revo for the win if need be, IMO the savage flux is the best electric MT on the market today

RC Death Race, I like it! I wonder if there are ever RC crash up derbies or "combat races".
