Another new update!

Still currently bidding on a Diemaker Dave Wingmount for UE knucklehead towers on Ebay, currently up to $29, hopefully I win the auction! It will be over on Wednesday.

Also ordered my UE stuff!

UE Monoblock
UE Knucklehead shock towers

Total price - $116.99 shipped

And I also just ordered a Mugen MBX5-T wing-stay to match up with the Diemaker Dave wingmount, as well as new bumper mounts and some 60,000wt Associated diff oil, all ordered from www.amainhobbies.com

Total price for MBX5-T wing-stay and bumper mounts, and center diff oil, - $26.12 shipped

I am holding off on the FLM bulkheads for now, since my current diff setup (stock ring/pinion/spider gears with FLM aluminum diff cups) are holding up fine.

Lol, yeah actually alot has happened to it, but I don't have a camera right now, I have to borrow my girlfriend's camera or borrow my parents camera, and since I have killed 2 camera's via RC, they don't trust me with their cameras if I have them around my RC's... [:@]

Once I get my UE stuff I will convince my parents to let me borrow their camera. It will look very different compared to last time I took a picture of it, but it will be awesome!

And you act like there is something wrong with long posts? Do you have trouble reading or something? [&:]

yeah, garage tools ftw!!!

uprights are either cast into the bottom (it was a channel, so a U shaped bit of aluminium) or bolted onto the other upright bits, so its not going aywhere used some 3mm ss screws, so as long as i dont run in salty areas, the joins should be fine, seeing as i live a long way from th coast, im not likely to find any problems wiht the stainless onto aluminium.

My Maxx weighs 11.5 pounds fully RTR currently, with the other UE parts I am adding like the Monoblock, it might add a few ounces. Once I switch to two 4S packs in parallel, it might be around 12 to 12.5 pounds.

plus the pede is a single battery, the maxx has 2, so thats a fair bit right there... maxx wheels are bigger.. whole lotta reasons for the weight difference.

What lipo battery would you guys reccomend getting for my slash, 2S or 3s? Where? I would like to keep it under $50 bucks, so maybe some Zippy type lipo. Any help is appreciated. Also, are there any important upgrades on the slash? I have all RPM stuff, MM VXL motor combo, and aluminum toe links. Right now I have 1/10 truck wheels on it.

Depends really on what you do with it. Race or bash? Do you like more control or alot of speed? It's basically personal preference, but I would probably go with 3S and tone down the settings on the MM a bit.

New update, got my Mugen MBX5-T wing stay, Diemaker Dave wingmount, 60k weight diff fluid, and bumper mounts in the mail! I also got some titanium skids for $15, ordered RPM True-Track, another complete Revo shaft so I can make a custom length center shaft, and aluminum wing stay braces. I should have my UE Monoblock and Knucklehead towers on Tuesday, RPM True-Track on Wednesday, Revo shaft and aluminum wing stay braces on Thursday, and the titanium skids on Friday! New parts each day of the week, should keep me busy!

New updates!

Coming soon for the Maxx - 1/8 diffs!

Everything else I bought for it has arrived except for a pair of titanium skids. So here are the pics!

UE Monoblock

Motor mount brace made from some Traxxas universals

Rear UE Knucklehead shock tower with Diemaker Dave wingmount and Mugen MBX5-T wing stay

Front UE Knucklehead shock tower

Rear RPM True-Track

Sorry for large pics, Photobucket wouldn't resize them for some reason and RCU wouldn't let me attach them.

Yep and he's either running an outrunner or inrunner in that thing. People use them for boats but they can be used in a car too.
He's been abusing that e-maxx pretty good, got the body damage to prove it...lol
Says his next upgrade is 1/8 diffs, I'm pretty sure it will be a spiral type because you cant strip those.

Inrunner, it's a Medusa 36-80, only a few mm's shorter than a Neu 1521, but about 8mm smaller in diameter (Neu motors (smooth can) have a 44mm diameter I believe.)

How did you know about the diffs? Do I talk to you on AIM? But you are only partly right, I am going with 1/8 diffs, not going with spiral/helical cut type though. Spiral/Helical type gears are not nearly as strong as straight cut. Spiral/Helical cut ring/pinion gears in diffs put ALOT of stress on the pinion bearings, and running spiral/helical cut ring and pinion with brushless is a no no, it would eat pinion bearings all the time. The only reason for using spiral/helical cut ring/pinion gears on diffs is because they are quiet, which is the only reason they are used on cars. Indy cars use straight cut gears in the diffs because they don't care about how quiet they are, they just want strength.

However, most 1/8 diffs' ring and pinion have a slight helical cut to them, so it reduces the noise level slightly without losing strength.
