Access do you use all of them? That is a lot!!! How do you keep them from going bad, if you don' drive all the time?

The LiPos are left 40% charged. If Iam going to need them on the weekend, I will charge them up thursday or friday and then run them (typically run until the LVC cuts it off). Then just charge back to 40%. You really don't have to worry much about self-discharge any with the LiPos, you can store them for months or even a year at 40% as long as the temperatures you store them at are reasonable.
NIMHis another story, I use them enough not to worry about having to cycle them, and plus they are only GP3300's. Typically the NIMHproblems are with the really high-end, high-capacity, expensive cells that make a lot of sacrifices to reach that level of capacity and performance. In a battery like theNIMHthe anode/cathode are asymetric enough to not have to worry about self-discharge leading to a reverse voltage condition, total depletion, or other problems. You still need to cycle them to get best performance after bringing them out of storage, but if I'm going for performance I'm not using the NIMH to begin with.

Being a Dirt Oval racer for the last 20+ years has caused me to accumulate a fair number of batteries....I probably have 40+ packs of NiMh from 1700s up to my newest 4200s....I have 5 stick packs for the spin starter on my Aftershock, and about 5 Rx packs, and a few Tx packs........I have'nt made the jump to LiPos, but it's in the works.....

Um, I really don't know, but the Ener-G's are better then the IB's, the Ener-G's seem to have a higher Amp out put.
Also I don't get them in combos, I collect them!! LOL

(just joking) they just accumulate!

Also, IBs are notorious for blowing up. Ive seen/heard of 2 blow up-once when I was talking to the same person who it had blown up on, which was being charged on a Duratrax ICE, and one when i was on the drivers stand, then I hear a POFF!! I thought it was a lipo, but softcase's arent allowed atmy track.

They have to make a lot of sacrifices to get the capacity so high, a typical NIMHhas a lot more anode than cathode (or vice versa) in order to give some resistance to overcharging / overdischarging, and contains catalysts to cause gasses released during rapid charging to combine back to water or something similar (rather than vent). Increasing capacity means maximizing the amount of cathode and anode, and that space has to come by removing something...

Well I'm not going to count them all but 50+ easy ,lots of 1700scr Sanyos from the old racing days, 14 lipos and probably 20 nimh. Chargers, 2 Duos, Turbo 30, 2 digital peak, Astroflight 111. No shortage of run time here lol....

But I only really use the Venom 1200s for my nitros, and the Ener-G for my Rustlers.
The others arn't used that much.

3 Venom NIMH packs, each 7cell 8.4v 5000 MAH. Each has been run about 25 times(I started keeping track after about 10 or more runs, at 13, 15, and 15 now). They're still like brand new.
And one Flightmax 2s 4000 mah 25C Lipo pack. 15 runs on it. Still good. Can't wait to see what it's like approaching 100 runs.

man guys those EnerG 4600 nimh are some really killer cells, they never get hot on discharge and they got massive get up ... i think they are on par with some of my lesser lipo's ... the TP lipo's seem to rule the roost tho. i've had several IB and GP packs vent and turn to junk fairly fast ... the only nimh i'll buy are the EnerG ce4600 cells .... and we only run brushless setup's
