Default rustler VXl Stalling.??

I have a stock rustler VXL. 3s lipo. stock gearing. I can rip this rig up and down the black top. Then it just stalls and sits there. motor temp 140. light on the esc is green. when you give input on the remote it chirps and the light will blink. Give it a little roll and it takes off... any ideas. traxxas said to send in the ESCand motor..wow...

check over your radio and reciever. look for anything that may be loose.
then, re-calibrate the ESC to the radio.
this my not fix your problem, but it only takes a few minutes to do and is worth a try before sending parts away and waiting for traxxas to fix the problem
if you do have to send the ESC and motor off, i hope you will have the experience i had. when my VXL ESC had an issue i mailed it to traxxas(cost my $6 to mail it) they fixed it and sent it back to me in just 2 weeks at no additional cost!

If you are brushless, it sounds like you have one dogy wire to the motor from the ESC.

I belive that 3S is too much voltage/amps for the VXL even thought its rated for it. I think that it is on the "edge" of its operating limits and the reduced life is not unexpected, the good thing is that Traxxas says its 3S'able and so they will warranty it.

vxl 3 esc 's are backorderd at traxxas . I have been waiting 3 weeks for mine to come back . They are going to replace at no cost though . Eventually . How do they run out of ESC's ??

It seems many people that run 3s lipo on the velineon system end up with problems and or shortened life span of motor or ESC. Is their anyone on the board that has been running a velineon system with 3s for a long period of time without problems ??

Not I

Now I limit myself to 2S and have had no more issues.
