Default VXl vs. Mamba Max(4600,or 5700kv)

Looking at buying a nice brushless system for my SC10. The Velineon system is about $50 cheaper for me, but price isn't really a problem. I will only be doing bashing and never ever any racing( considering we don't have a track.....any more). I would like to know some pros and cons and experiences with these and other brushless systems. Also which one cogs alot? If anybody has had any brushless system feel free to leave a comment. Thanks:Ryan

The VXL does cog a bit a lower speeds, all sensorless systems will cog a bit. If you don't want any cogging then look at a sensored system. With that said the VXL is still a good system and well suited to off road, I have one in my slash and it works fine. I also have the mamba and it can be programmed a bit more but if you're just bashing it doesn't really make a difference.

My sensored systems are mostly in my on road cars as they dont' have to deal with grass.

What prices are you getting?
In the US it is reversed, VXL is one of the more expensive options. The Novak Havoc or the Castle Sidewinder are bother cheaper than it... then again I just checked and the VXL is listed as 'discontinued' online... maybe they are coming out with something new soon and that's why it's cheaper.

your poll seems to be locked up, I was leaning towards 'taco'. Actually I'd be tempted to wait just a bit to see if the new waterproof vxl has any bugs. aside from that, if I had to buy today it would probably be the mamba 4600. Of course there is the mix and match. I run, and many others do as well, the castle esc with a vxl motor. good combo. you should read the similar post from a couple days ago, some good info in there - if you can get through the brand bashing.

Go with the Mamba sidewinder or Max ESC and the Velineon motor. The traxxas BL motor has a larger core and produces more torque. Overall it is a bit more potent than the mamba max motors and doesn't overheat as easily under a lot of load/abuse. Many people have found the CC ESC and Trx Motor to work wonders.

A havoc sensored system from Tower would be good too. I have a discount code for international if you need it.

I'm just wondering what the extra $50 I'm putting out gets me?
