I wrap my battery in electrical tape and use velcro straps to secure it.

I learned to never rely on velcro straps or such, too many times I've had the battery wiggle itself loose and then fall out on the track. For cars without battery bars I always servo tape the battery right onto the chassis.

servo tape?, after you stick it so many times it wont stick anymore, then your running thru servo tape every time you wanna put your battery in, and if you do that 5 times a day thats alotta servo tape, i use velcrow straps but 2 of them, and i never have a problem it doesnt even cross my mind

cool thanks for all the ideas. the socks and duct tape are from
my kindapping bag. lol j/k i didnt think how that sounded when
i typed it.

what i do is chuck it in an ankle sock with the top cut off and duct
tape it into the batt tray. problom is it looks rediculous and the
tape has to go around the whole chassis so it can get chaffed
and cut.

good quality velcro seems the go. i had a 2s hardpack hit ejection
at about 50mph on concrete, and it slid to france
when i eventually found it the case was cracked and scuffed but
it still works. that battery cost me 165 bucks . i want to take
care of my lipo's and if a soft case gets damaged i would probably
dispose of it instead of risking a fire. i know they are fragile.

thanks for the tips guys

Actually I only use the servo tape once and then discard it. This is for racing: you lose your battery and you are pretty much out of the race. Therefore even a 1% chance it will happen is 1% too much. It happens on average every other race day, someone loses their battery b'cos it was not properly secured.

I have other installations where the battery basically lives in the car, ie. charged in-place and everything. So same deal, no point not to tape it in.
