Default are the SMC 9000mah 2s packs any good?

i am getting a pair of these packs with a truck i bought used from the marketplace. i have heard some pretty bad things about the 4000mah-6000mah packs. i've seen 4 "28c+" 6000mah 2s packs puff in mildly geared setups. there is no way they are anywhere close to 28c. i haven't heard anything about the 9000mah packs though. they also say 28c+, which is not true, but i'm hoping the extra capacity will help the packs fare a little better. they will be run in an extended savage flux with stock tires and gearing.

i've seen a pair puff in a savage flux with stock gearing and tires during a mild run. i've also seen a pack puff in a slash with the mamba max 4600kv setup. all 3 of the packs were the 28c+ 6000mah hardcase packs. i also saw 2 more packs puff while they were charging. the packs were only 10 cycles old.

SMC packs are great. I own the 2s 9000MaH 28C packs and they never gave me an issue. I also own four of their 2s 5000MaH 30C hard case packs and use those regularly without issue.
