RE: any 1 been out with there rc in the snow?
Have yet to take my Slash out in snow, but had it out on wet pavement and was a ton of fun.
Has yet to really snow here yet.....just flurries, which essentially just leaves the ground wet.
Only a matter of time.

I had my Lunch Box out there last week. Pretty challenging to control it on the packed down snow & ice on the driveways. We have about 4 inches of icy snow on the ground, and the Lunch Box cannot handle that. I don't think the Stampede would either.
I'm hoping the E-Savage comes today before dark, so I can try that out. I have high hopes for that one.
I didn't think you guys got snow in the UK...

I'm not sure if I'll go out this year or not. I went out last year:

Made some tracks in the snow last year, waiting for a little more to fall soon. Snow driving is so much fun. Just fit the JConcepts tray cover on the slash. Got a few other items ready to manufacture, hopefully make the winter season even better.....but we shall see.

How come the battery blew up? Just running it too hard or something? Or from it getting wet?

True, forgot about the cold. I guess that is a good thing you mentioned that, lol!
With that said, what is a temp to safely run a battery at?

You have to watch batteries in the cold. What a battery can do at room temperature and above (up to ~120F) it may not be able to do in the cold. So pushing it to that level can cause failures.

Where'd you get the tire chains? The skis are probably not much good without also having chains, right?
I might do this to the Stampede. On your site, you mentioned that the ride height is adjusted to maintain the stock height. Is there a different ski set for Stampede, since it rides higher than the Rustler & Slash?

I run my Hotshot (original) in the snow every year. Goes great in dustings an the initial part of snow; lots of fun 4wd drifting. I ran it in the snow/frozen pool some 20+ years ago when I was a kid, me and one of my friends who had the Royal Ripper (a crappy 4wd/4ws Hotshot lookalike) made a snow course to race on. Most fun I had with an RC car.

Jeremy:
The ride height refers to the average height of a tire. When we first began developing the sets, we tried to average the sizes of the tires used on most of popular vehicles. In the end, the axles for instance on a slash, are slightly raised compared to stock tires, and slightly lower than stock stampedes. By slight I mean 1-2mm. So not much difference.
We tested different vehicles and recommend the Proline Sand Paws, or some type of sand tire for the back. Also, it may sound odd, but run them with no foam, and, punch 2 holes opposite one another, IN THE TREAD, but make sure you glue them well. This allows the tire to grab better in softer snow, and keeps water from building up inside.
Side notes: Skis, of any sort will only help up to a point. Once the soft powder is deeper than your car can clear, you will find it harder to get going. Flip the sand tires backwards for soft snow, Sand Paws are designed like cups and the less digging you can do in soft snow the better.

I had a nice romp in the snow today with the new E-Savage. It does amazingly well with the stock "all season tires." It'd do even better with some proper chevrons.

Had my mighty bull out yesterday on snow packed driveway and it did very good. Problem i have is ground clearence issues with snow. I just got another 1"-2" last night so i might try it today but i don't think it will go very far.

I've been running a friends Carisma on the ice, and been running my 1/16 E-Revo in the backyard (really hard snow, literally no grip), ran it on a frozen pond (does really cool stuff), and at some other places. The TT01 is yet to see outside, it's sitting and looking out the window.
