Nice
I use a Duratrax Piranha charger which the one you got is just a relabeled one. When getting batteries stay at or under 5000mAh seeing thats the max it can charge. I found that out the hard way [:@]

Other than the limit on battery capacity its a nice charger and can charge packs up pretty fast

You are going to love it T-Max. The J-Dog would never (OK, rarely ) steer you wrong.

You'll want to get more batteries just as soon as you can afford them. I just realized the runtimes I've been giving for this truck have been too short. I've actually been getting about 19 minutes on a set of 3600 6 cell packs, not 13. The timer on my radio counts up to 1000 seconds, then calls that 10 minutes and keeps counting. So 13 minutes is actually 19 minutes.

You'll get at least 20 minute runs on those.

Remember to keep it at 1/2 throttle or below for the first run to let the brushes form to the commutator a bit.

I just took mine to the local sledding hill today. All the little ankle-biters had trampled down our 8" of snow just enough that E-Savage could get through. They all wished they were driving RC rather than sledding.

Now for the hard part: waiting.

Oh, one thing(s) you might want to order right away is Deans Ultra or Traxxas High Current connectors for the battery packs (female), charge lead (male) and 2 ESC leads (male)

Those Molex connectors are pure garbage. If you don't believe me, see how warm they are after about your 10th run, when they've loosened up a bit.

You'll get longer runtimes because you won't be losing power in the connectors, and your connectors won't deform after a while either.

yup
like I said only disappointment that I had was when I went to charge my 5300mAh battery and found out 5000mah is its max [:@]. Trust me not a pleasant feeling especially after waiting 2-3 weeks to get the battery from china.(think the guy shipped it using one of those ancient chinese boats )

Kinda wish I had an extra $280 laying around to pick one up myself after looking closer at the truck

I gotta ask....what happened when you "found out the limitations of the charger"?[sm=confused.gif]

Just read in the description where it has cooling fans,
"Motors: Two 550 size motors with internal cooling fans to maximize power"
is this a seperate fan or is it built onto the motorshaft someway?

ahh the limitation I said a fair amount of words that would show up as *'s here so pointless to say what I said
It also has issues charging the 5300mAh battery I was getting the same run time as a 1800 NiCd on the same vehicle. Had to put it through a few charge cycles the 1st few charges to get it charged. Now it seems to charge fine just not the full capacity. Glad I only paid $20 for the battery would have been alot more interesting language thats not able to be typed here if I spent more

And those cooling fans are in the motor themselves at the rear.

The fans are built onto the motor shaft, inside the motor case. They pull air through the motors, so that the motors will actually run cooler if they're running a bit faster.

looking at the E-savage gave me an idea

just ordered the gear case(empty just for sizing to see if its worth pursuing) to see if i can jimmy rig the tranny from a e-savage into my E-converted Nitro MT1 to give it more oomph and to solve a issue I got with the motor mount I made

I swear I might have been cheaper getting addicted to drugs instead...

When you get it I would recommend getting the CVDS and the GCM differential because the drivetrain is so weak in that truck its ridiculous. Its a tough truck but it just can't handle any real power and has no aftermarket support really.

They are built into the back of the motors themselves (on the rotor/shaft).
