i think i will go with a mamba 1/8th scale 2650 motor and use a 6s li-po or a 5700 on 2 2s li-po or do what i wanted to do use a mamba 9000 on 3s li-po becouse i will never reach full rpm(yes i will put heatsink and very good fan

imo the best thing for you aplication is the MMM 2650 setup... on a 5-6s

Did you mean 2 2s packs? That'll be around 90,000 unloaded, which you'll never hit with the wheels down..........but that seems ALOT better than 9000 on 3s..............and it would have more power. I'd still try 5700 on 3s...........you can always go to 4.

If you are serious about drag racing would be better of with a different car like gms or team walbern pro stock,funny car or dragster chassis. These will get in to the speeds you are looking for. Look in the drag racing forum for tim smith's speed records on 2s. this will give you an idea of what it takes to go that fast.

Do you honestly think a firestorm on a 9000kv motor with a 3s lipo is going to even be fast. Theres no way that it can even keep up with a real dragster. I will just laugh at the fact you want to run a 3s 1550mah lipo with a 9000kv motor. You know the fastest car right now is in the 160's (MPH).

ill just go with the mm 2650 on two 3s li-po. the reason i will use the e-firestorm is becouse im running against a traxxas rustler(and i want to be fair)

Go ahead and use the 9000 but you won't get 80 to 90 out of it with that truck. You will probably puff that battery though.

I'm not trying to be mean but your battery is to small for the 9000. I would try it on 3s but with a bigger and better battery. I have seen some people run the 7700 on 4s so I think you could run the 9000 on 3s. The people who run them are just running them less than 30 seconds and not worried about burning them up.

Like I said it not made for offroad but can be used if geared very low on 2s but you have to watch the temps. The motor I run most of the time is my medusa 4800 more power and runs way cooler than my castle motors 5700 and 9000.

Pretty sure your local hobby shop can order either one in from HPI....they're pricey but worth it.
Your buddys wont stand a chance after you tell them what you installed on your Firestorm.

I believe 5700kv on 3s should be faster than 9000kv on 2s if you gear it up, plus when you're tired of a straight line its pretty fun on 2s. The MMP will let you tame it even more if needed.



If you're SERIOUS about speed I would look at some of the bigger motors on the Hobby King website.
