i just bought a monster kit and installed it into my 8t, and now im wondering what size lipo battery i can safley run. I was thinking a single 4200mah 4s 40c lipo would be good. I want to start off with a smaller batt. cause i want to get familliar with the brushless power before i get a big battery. I test drove it today with a 3s lipo and it seems a tad bit under powered.

Get the biggest baddest battery you can find that will fit, and limit the throttle with the ESC.
Because before you know it you're gonna want to run it on 6S. I'd try for about 200A discharge, 5000mah 40C.

yes but that'd be short on runtime and maybe even amperage, you'd probally want at least a 5000mha pack with that you could get away with a 4000 tho

3200mah is 3.2Ah X 30C = 96amps peak output.

You shouldn't use the terminology 'peak output' b'cos I can practically gaurantee you they can provide more than they are rated for a short time (before getting too hot and failing). You should use language like 'maximum safe continuous output' instead.

Just couldn't think of a better phrase at the time. I had meant to put a line in there about what I meant by "peak", then forgot to.
