Gearing
I just received my slash 4x4 and after 2 runs I've notice that the temps seem high. I'm running the stock set up with a 2s 4000mah 25c lipo. Lipo is warm to the touch, ESC is hot but can hold finger for about 8 seconds and the motor is about 7 seconds with finger. I do run on a short, tight track. Is the VXL just that hot of a system. My truck is new and all stock, I get about 20 min on my batts and havent hit the LVC or the thermal shutdown..
Any help or suggestions?

RE: Gearing
the vxl motor can get upto 190 without damaging it. you cant hold your finger to a 190 degree motor for any length of time. still, it better to have the motor not get above 180 at the end of a battery pack.
a rc temp gun is a good investment. that way there is no guessing.
if you are concerned, lower the tooth count on your pinion gear. but, most likely you are fine.
