i own one and my opinion its an awesome basher and plus its lipo ready and brushless, and as for racing its capable, but if you tune it right its not too bad, id recommend it to you, the e revo is also nice and so is the ofna hyper 10sc

its okay since your mostly gonna be bashing, but for racing i'd get a blitz or sc10. the slash is a little too high for racing IMO. i personally have a slash 2wd and i've yet come accross anything that it cant climb.

Ya slash 4x4 is a nice truck to bash with.
Also dont forget that it is 100% waterproof i put mine to the test and it was 100% underwater except for the antenna and it was still driving (slowly) but it was driving, i took it out and it drove perfect.

i am a shash 4x4 rtrowner and i love it. its tough and a good racer. i've beaten sc10 4x4s and slash 4x4s in my first two races so far with only shock and diff oil, springs, and tire changes. also ive broken nothing since owning it for 5 weeks. you'll like it too i'm sure.

SC10 4x4's?They haven't come out yet. You might have beaten conversions, but those aren't legit SC10's. They're not supposed to come out until about September. Unless you meant to say Jammin SCRT 10's or OFNA Hyper 10 SC's. Both of which are seriously good vehicles. But no matter how good the vehicle is, it's only as good as it's drivers

RE: is the slash 4x4 a good truck
I have a slash 4x4 that I have taking to the track to practicewith, for afew weeks . It is a ton of fun and flys around and over the track .
That being said , the best drivers atthe track seem to have a Jammin or Hyper 10 4x4 . It seems when the slash guys good better at driving they want a truck that has a lower COG and more tunability . The traxxas ESC is also not tunable at all . The better drivers want to change the timing / torque and what not depending on track size and conditions . That can not be done with Traxxas ESC .
Also, it seems that the kVrating on the motors that are dropped in to the Jammins and Hyper 10's are much higher than the 3600 kV of the Traxxas Velineon .
I met a driver with a 5000 kV motor in his Hyper 10 and he was passing me , no problem on the straight . I was keeping up in the turns and jumps at times , mostly just chasing . I have alot to learn .
