Default Tamiya F-150 Ta-02 kit

Just wanting some info from people who have owned one.

I wanting it pretty bad but is hard to find any real info on the truck which leaves me with a few questions

1. Can the drivetrain handle a 2s powered 3300-4000kv brushless system ?
2. Any problems fitting a lipo in there? Will hardcase work ?
3. Upgrades that need to be done or are recommended ?

Love to hear from people who have the truck and experiences. Good or bad

I will be using to bash around the yard and some jumping. Not Savage like stuff but playing around and maybe throw it on the local offroad track for fun.

If there is a thread for this truck or chassis a link would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I have a few of these trucks.

1) The drive train will handle 2S brushless systems as long as you make one change. The rear dog bones have plastic ends on them. They need to swapped for the all metal pieces. I heard this was going to be a running change. I don't know if it ever actually happened.

2) Major Problem. The Battery slot is oval so there are only a couple of Lipos on the market that will fit this chassis without modding the battery slot.

3) Bearing everywhere and the dogbones from #1.

You need to know that these trucks are nothing like the current crop of stadium trucks on the market., They're true 1/10 scale and about 7 inches smaller than a modern Slash.

This is a pic of the TA02 Prerunner (same as F150) on top of my Slash.

First, great looking truck ! I just love the scale look.

Yeah i figured it was smaller but I wont be racing it anyways.

Hard to believe it comes with a rear ball diff and notbearings. But I agree they are a must to replace and thanks for letting me know about the axles. I just assumed they was metal.

You have the dimesions on the battery slot ?

You have aextra truckyou want to sale

No I don't but they use the standard NiMh shotgun style oval packs. There are a couple of people that make Lipo's in the same shape as the NiMh pack for this very reason but I can't think of the MFG at the moment.

Actually I do have one that I'm considering selling. I'll need to check it out. If you're serious PM me and we'll discuss it.
