the gambler recently kicked some but in austrailia using the mid motor layout.
Yes it did.

Hopefully it will be one of those "Good things come to those who wait" deals.

After reading over the thread I now realize it hasnt been yet, dated all the way back to 2010.
Im so confused I cant even help answer questions. I guess i wont listen to people at the other track anymore
because they are full of it. Now I can go back and tell them "Hey how do you have this truck when Venom
has not released it yet?"

The other track meaning the track that I was pretty much banned from. The track you wanna go to Reo.
Since you mentioned it in another thread now you know. I wont stop you from going there however since
I still have freinds that race there. It really sux having 2 tracks close to your house and the guys
at golfland the ones im affiliated with right now dont seem to get along with the Reo Mafia guys.
I really hate choosing sides but it has come to that. You can tell those guys the B44 is gone for good,
and I have an SC10. They couldnt stand me having that B44 there, 3 long years it was raced there.
Now that I have an SC10 they are probably confused as to why I have not came back there yet.
Im gonna wait and let them figure it out for themselves.
The Madisonville guys treat me alot better and you can tell them that.

I couldnt hold this inside any longer and it was gonna come out sooner or later.

This is confusing. I know there are a few pre production trucks around, mainly in Australia. There are none in the US as far as I know at the moment. And for the record, some of the biggest bullpie I've ever heard has been spouted by people at a track. Just because they are there it doesn't mean they are either A) a good driver or B) Worth listening to.

The Gambler has had a few tightly controlled appearances, and the only independent feedback I've seen was this:

We run it with a Novak SS pro with a 13mm rotor and a Mamba Max Pro running full boost
I didnt catch the gearing it was running....
M2 Trenchers and Ofna Hyper wheels

Like i said,we had 4 SC10s there too...Probably the top 4 from the club, and we all flogged the daylights out of it

We ended up putting 4 batterys through it..and give it a little tweak here and there..
End Result........ VERY IMPRESSED
This thing is going to be a WEAPON

LOSI,AE,KYOSHO,XFACTORY, and HPI should be worryed

Pros
1: New Plastics

2: Braking....unbeleivable..compared to our SC10's,you could just haul on the brakes and just turn it in...it wouldnt budge

3: Power Down was very, very good, considering the amount of boost it was running, and with M2 Trenchers.......The Chassis just didnt get upset by the Torque hit from the speedy, whereas our SC10's get all upset by the torque hit...

4: Strong....i nailed a landing on 1 front arm, from a huge height...a AE arm on a SC10 would have sheared straight off..the Gambler just shrugged it off

5: Quite gearbox....means its well made, and got tight tolerances

Cons...

1: Steeering...it was severely lacking, felt like a tank compared to SC10..even the Blitz boys will turn up the inside of it....

It may have been the M2 Trenchers on the front,we will change them tomorow

But,the steering had a fare amount of slop, and not much lock,we wound the shock bottom down for more droop on the front, changed the lower shock mount from the lower arm hole,to the upper arm hole, and turned the EPA way up,so the outside tyre would actually turn...HEAPS better, but still needs work

In a hr we had a massive improvement just trying a few things...

Like i said, the tyres may have been most of it

2: Underdamped..SC10s and SC-Rs at our track are normally running 30=35 weight,we had 50 front and 40 rear in the Gambler, needs smaller holes in Pistons

3: Battery tray...we had that pop open a few times, nothing major....might not have been closed properly, but something to have another look at tomorow

4: the servo arm,or turnbuckle to the steering rack are off.....bad angle at the arm,Johnny replaced it with a SC-R turnbuckle and servo arm..it got a straight shot at the steering rack then....no binding on the servo

The Gambler was very good to drive for something that was virtually stock VS's our known and loved SC10's....i was very impressed with it

Remember, this was only a quick flogging of it,with a less than perfect setup...on a rough, dusty outdoor OFFROAD track
But,it showed a heap of potential, and stunned ALL of us

Thats about it for now......except for...IF you see 1,beg,steal,buy,bribe,do anything to get a drive...its worth it

Will be back with a better review for you guys soon
Sounds good to me.

Then:

Chris...The guys have now had the Gamblers running for a few weeks, and i have some feedback for you...

1: The guys cant find wheels to get the correct offset, besides the Gambler wheels.....2wd Slash rear is too wide,as is 2wd slash fronts...
SC10 wheels have to be drilled out to fit over the bigger Gambler axles, and they end up being to narrow in the rear....and front

They are wanting to run the 1 peice plastic race wheels, and not the Gambler Beadlocks...plus,i think 1 of the guys just mentioned to me that the Gambler wheels wont accept aftermarket tyres from Proline,Jconc etc...is this true?
I know yor crawler wheels are that way...Griplox exclusive

2: It handles Wickedly....very impressive on the brakes

3: Steering needs a little work....i will get back to you on this

4:Can you guys design a 4 gear gearbox for the midmotored setup?
The 3 gear will still be perfect for the rear motor setup, but the 4 gear will be optimal for the Mid setup.......

It will also prove that Venom are 100% serious on the Gambler being a racetrack winner

5: Just seen pics of the RED edition on RedRC.....Insane
Love the Fan setup for the motor, very neat, very well though out...and the vented motor plate....

Throw some pics our ways guys

6:Also,a request from a Mate that will surely be a hit with other customers, can we have the Alloy Option parts in Black anodise as well....for that sublte, but tough look

7: The ballcups pop off with the smallest hit.....this truck was running the new plastics too,actually..all 3 of them are now

Thanks Chris

Also, the Venom Gambler just took its first Big race win in Australia yesterday

The JConcepts Clash was held over here in Sydney at St Ives racetrack...Highgrip,technical outdoor layout.....

We had 10 spots for SCT,had 5 in the Finals after a few withdrawals, but it also happened to be the top 3 Guys from my club,to take on the Stock State Champ,Darryn Johnson driving a Gambler...
John H was also driving the Gambler
I was driving Warhorse,Shane E(Winner of the Gambler from the Venom event) was driving his SC10

Let me just say,that after a epic days racing of 2 SC10's VS's 2 Gamblers,it went

1st....Gambler,Darryn Johnson
2nd....AE SC10,Shane Edwards
3rd....Gambler,John Hoang

The Gambler kicked ass,and took names...i got 4th again

Will post up the results for you,and some pics when i can get them.....

No probs mate....I am seriously, very suprised by this truck..
After the issues with the Creeper, then a few bad batterys,i had lost time for Venom.....but,with some new batterys that have been bulletproof for me over the last year, and with good support for there products in Aus,im happy to give them a 2nd go....

The Gambler was there last shot for me,and they have hit a homerun

Shanes so happy with its performance on the weekend, with Daz beating him, that he's ditching the SC10....says it all really

Now,we just have to wait and see how durable they are...im betting they will have no issues from what we have seen

Go check out the RED version...its very bling, and with NO green, just red and Grey alloy
Ball diff,Alloy hubs,Alloy arm mounts......New race tyres....

My lipos have outlasted anything from Maxamps/Elite/Turnigy/Polyquest etc.

The bike is apparently awesome.

The Gambler has been in development for so long i would be surprised if it is junk.

There is crappy people at almost every track/ LHSI have been too. My local track is full of prima donnas.
Does not give you or anyone else the right to just bash someones car for the sake of bashing.

If you want to see the truck (fingers crossed) and the "Junky Chinese" Hobbywing ESC's in action. You should come to REO on the 5th.

And im sorry if I bashed Venom's Truck, although that is what others said not me. I'll try not to take other's opinions for granted anymore.

This is to help git yer gambler on, courtesy of Kenny Rogers:

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away and know when to run
You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealing's done

Hmm. So distributors should have them a week after.

Should be interesting to see it run. Hopefully a test drive will come ThunderbirdJunkie's way soon.
