Default HPI/Castle Tork Motor question.

Hi, I recently bought a Flux/Blur esc and ordered a Tork 2200kv motor from Amain hobbies. Well the motor came and I opened it up and it had a Tork 2650kv motor. Someone at HPI put the wrong motor in the right box. So I call amain (They have amazing customer service) The kind lady told me I could return it, but wanted me to call HPI. I called Andy at HPI and he said I can swap you out, but the 2650 is a better motor. It only specifies 4s use and I need a 6s capable motor. He assured me that the 2650 is a monster on 6s and If I had any problem running 6s he would swap it out, no questions asked. Should I keep the 2650 or get the 2200? It is for a LST conversion. Thank you kindly in advance, Jay

it will probably be way too fast unless you gear down like crazy. HPI said they would replace the MOTOR if it breaks under 6S, they didn't say they would cover your rig's drive train if it explodes.

He said that he would replace the 2650 with a 2200kv if I have any problems running 6s. I have two castle 2200kv systems, no stranger to EDS (exploding drivetrain syndrome) I have yet to use the 2650 motor and just wondered if anyone had had any experience with it. Andy from HPI said they have been testing/running it on 6s in the flux mt and have had no problems. He did say they had to gear it down quite a bit. Thank you for your input. Take care and happy rc'ing, Jay

the lst is very big truck and the 2200kv torq is bigger and will run cooler. that 2650 will not last if you gear for anything over 30mph. the 2200 will most likely run cool up to 45mph.

I wouldn't run that motor off 6s.

It'll cook!
