Yep, HPI is once again kicking butt and taking names in the prices wars dept with another rebate sale for almost all their models! Check it out before Oct 15th!

If I were you I would call HPI. They have great customer support. Just tell them about what happened and Id almost bet they will send you the $50 rebate too.

I think the whole point of them not announcing the rebate and offering it in the time period they do is so they don't have a bunch of folks holding off on purchases till the rebate kicks in. That way they still make that extra bit of money before and after the rebate, and with the rebate, they may catch a few more orders who might have otherwise held off due to the higher original price. At least, that's my thinking on this. However I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask them to honor the rebate for your order even though it's 4 whole days before it kicked in. And yes I know it sucks, I often purchase stuff (electronics, phone, r/c stuff) only to find out a week later it went on sale (or price drop altogether!!!)!

With that said, I just visited their site and saw their scale 1/10th Cup Racer cars... Man the detail on the Datsuns just looks sweeeett (the 240z is really calling my name!!) but sadly I know it'll be a shelf queen since I really don't have any practical use for 1/10th on-road around my area. Hm.. but the $25 off is tempting (just a little bit more).. but I've spent $800 on my car's tires already.. it hurts!

Darn it, I dont see a rebate for the E-Firestorm. I cant make up my mind between the E-Firestorm or the Slash 4x4. This would have made up my mind I think...

Cooper had a $100 MIR and they wouldn't honor it and ThunderbirdJunkie's tires were only a year old[&:]
