RE: New to rc
Well, I hope you like searching for the info on it. You will have that much trouble buying parts for it as well... Get something you can atleast find on the internet man... You will brake it, and you will need parts for it... Don't shoot yourself in the foot this early into the hobby man. Take my advice and thank me later.

Now if you have like 9 RC's like me its not a huge issue if it takes awhile for parts to come, like sometimes I have to wait 2-3 weeks for a delivery on one of my RC's, or if the parts are hard to locate. BTW most RTR RC's tha come with charger need better chargers, cause the bricks they come with are crap. I'd get a Lipo capable charger right off the bat if I were you. Instead of buying a NiMh charger, than having to buy a lipo one down the line, and spending more cash. |
RE: New to rc
yeah ! I found a Maverick Strada XB 1/10 RTR Electric Buggy on http://www.hpiracing.co.uk/piw.php?partNo=MV12201I can find parts for that and its a better deal. I want some advice on how to not crash it!!! LOL

RE: New to rc
Oh come on now guys, You all now tower is carrying the parts for that car ;) and any hobby shop can get them for you.
Bone stock your looking at about 22-25 mph with a decent nimh battery. I have the brushless version and trips into the thirtys are easily done on 2s lipo. |
RE: New to rc
He is in the U.K. man.... Just wanted to make sure he doesn't buy something and not be able to have the parts ready. You know just as well as I do, when your bashing around and snap am arm or link, you want that bad boy fixed pretty quick.

Not sure if they carry the parts though seeing I dunno any part #'s to check |
RE: New to rc
just noticed the UK thing. Sorry
That said , being in the UK he shouldnt have any trouble scoring parts either. Thunder tiger is way more popular across the pond than here. I would try fusion hobbies. I have bought from them with out any issues. |
RE: New to rc
Oh wow, he might be in luck then...

On another note, I had no idea HPI sold HSP models ? |
RE: New to rc
Here in America, Traxxas or HPI would be a way to go. No idea about UK.

ORIGINAL: cooldriver385 Here in America, Traxxas or HPI would be a way to go. No idea about UK. Ages ago I had a Savage, no probs. Traxxas UK is literally two miles from me. I've never had a part not arrive the next day. That is a big deal for me. Then its Tamiya, where I can get anything from Time Tunnel Models almost always inside 7 days. After that with Losi, Associated and the other high quality manufacturers, it's mostly 3rd part suppliers but you can get most parts most of the time. After that.. especially with the cheaper stuff... lap of the gods as to whether it's in stock or not, even if you can find it its almost always on back order. That's the thing to watch out for. Back order can take weeks. GL orcbreath |
