Best traction in the snow

So I put skis on my Slash, and it turns great now in the snow. But if I get into anything more than 1-2 inches, it just completely loses traction, no movement at all. So I'm looking for a way to make it work. I've seen people do sand paddles, seem to work ok. I've heard of people putting tire chains on. I was also thinking tank tracks on the back would give this thing some serious traction. Or maybe not. Anyone have any experience with snow?

Thin tires and weight.

They are Dubro skis. they are meant for planes, but they work just as good on the truck.

Tracks I bet - with skis on the front you'd have a snowmobile!

Or put on 4 skis and an airplane engine/prop like an airboat!   I had an airboat as a kit with a cox 049 and it was a blast in the snow.

funny thing is that is why I asked about the ski's ;)
doing that to a pede would have finished it but I've been having some non-RC related issues to deal with.
I already got most of it designed, just need to drill the outrunners mount points on the aluminum bracket, and get 4 ski's.
I cannibalized an airplane kit I never bothered finishing ;)

i saw somewhere that maddtraxx was making some kind of track kit for the slash 2wd, i dont know when its coming out though. for now your best bet is sandpaddles or to buy yourself a mini alligator tours from aquacraft :)

omg...this was my idea like a year or two ago. i did it on my evader and i used paddles. they worked well as long as i didn't do any jumps. what you need are some really wide tires, they will float on top of the snow. skinny tires like the ones you have will cut into it and sink. the best thing would be to get tracks. mad tracks does have a prototype for a slash but they dont say when they will come out.

paddles work pretty good on a slash. I probably like the sand paws better, but the slingshots works very well.

Deepest snow I hit was probably 4". You have to keep your speed up though....stop and sinks ya quick!!!

Chains are best for on road in less snow <3in
Chains would also be more for snow plows too.
