Ah, but there's more to it than that. :)

I actually did laugh when I read this. Thanks for getting that out of the way. It actually performs quite well and shouldn't be overpriced IMHO. Here's a couple more pics for you guys.

I figured there would be more interest in this on here. This is stirring people up on other RC forums.

To me this is a waste, It is just way too overpowered for a offroad vehicle. Plus at high speeds sc truck will just blow over. just my opinion.

What I have done is:

1. created a chassis to change the 1/10 Slash to 1/8 size
2. the chassis is LCG, which greatly improves handling
3. the chassis accomodates the MMM and Velineon ESC's
4. can hold 2 batteries and positions can be adjusted for different sizes
5. gives someone the ability to convert their Slash to 1/8 rather than drop $500-600 on a new vehicle

And, most important, it's BIG and it's fun! Overpowered? I don't think so. I've had a blast with it so far and it handles nicely. Oh and it is fast. What's not to like?  :)

It was just my opinion, I would get some 8th scale buggy tires and throw on there to get the wheels the right size.

I like getting all opinions, so no worries there. I'm glad you mentioned tire/wheel size. I modeled the wheelbase after the SC8.2e and mine is almost dead on (SC8.2e=14.76", 1/8 Slash=14.75"). At first, I started looking for taller wheels/tires to match the size of the truck. Then I found out that the SC8.2e runs the same size wheels/tires from the SC10. So, I completed everything and with the 1/10 size tires, I think it actually looks more scale. I have a FT SC10 and comparing the two trucks, the tire size looks much better on the 1/8 Slash.

I haven't gotten to making the jumps yet. What you see is what I could get done in about 5-6 hours. There are so many roots in the ground that it isn't even funny. I still have so many more to pull out. And, I have to get rid of the grass to make the straight. I'm working with only a shovel and a rake, so it's gonna take time. But, I'll get there one of these days.

didn't see this when it was made, but last I looked 1/8th buggy tires, are the same size as 1/10th SCT tires give or take 1mm. I got 2 diff 1/8th buggy tires types(can't remember brand or style as its been a long time), and a set of HPI Maxxis Trepador Tires on the one set of buggies the buggy tires diameter is about 1mm larger, and comparing it to my other buggies tire the buggy tire is about 1mm smaller.

wow dude top job, I had to doubble check to see if traxxas made it lol

must say it looks like a rtr chassis with the traxxas logos on the battery holders.

to someone that dident know much about a slash they would think thats how it came

how much?

If u even need anyone to test it in a harsh Australian enviroment... hint hint lol

I guess I should have clarified. I designed the main chassis, top brace and front bumper plate. My chassis kit uses XO-1 battery holders, cups and center bearing carrier and also a Rustler top chassis plate. Target price for the kit ready to bolt together (except for the Traxxas pieces) should be $80-90.

I'm assuming it uses a sc8 body?

Can u tell us more about the chassis?

I used the SC8 body on mine, but you could also use the HPI Apache SC Flux body. It shares the same 14.76" wheelbase as the SC8. Here is an overview video of the chassis kit. This should answer a lot of questions.
