steering servo for wraith!
 

Getting kinda pissed. I need a servo with a 25 tooth output. I'm not paying 60$ for a servo to have it go out within a few runs like this 625wp did.
I say it needs to be 25t bcuz I have a 25t aluminum horn, I have a 23&24t horn but they are plastic.
I'd like to stay under 50$ and away from savox(I have a savox in my exo but its expensive)
Oh and waterproof is preferred.
Traxxas servos are too weak IMO.
BTW I shop mainly on eBay but not totally opposed to another site.

In conclusion, waterproof, under 50$, 25t output, as strong as possible.

I changed my mind. Savox would be OK.
Also one more thing I forgot to ask. My wraith has a CC MMP should I try to get a program card so I can set the voltage for the servo? Idk what the stock setting is. It came with the wraith so idk what its set to.

So you're interested in getting a "high-voltage" servo? And the MMP has a programable BEC voltage? If you're looking to up the servo voltage, be careful you don't blow your receiver. Savox servos suck a ton of current. I think Hitec make better servos. Your Wraith weighs 5.5lbs, so I don't think a cheap $15 servo is gonna do it. And stock RTR servos are notoriously sketchy, not worthy of replacement. You're gonna have to suck it up and buy a really decent servo, one with all metal gears and at least 150oz/in of torque, so it's built to last. So I still think you're going to be near the $50 mark to achieve that reliability you're looking for.

I don't have a bec. Idk anything about the MMP except that I don't like it.
What servo would recommend that would work and not cause my left arm to go limp.....?

How about the savox 1230sg? It costs more than I wanted to pay and isn't water proof though.
I'd like to stay in the waterproof area.
Like the savox 0231.
Like I said. Not stuck on savox. I just know they r good, expensive, and suck a lot of power even though the 1230 is rated at 6v

Thanks again rob! I saw that one but dismissed it, I didn't think it would be strong enough. I've had good luck with hitec serrvos in the past.

Yeah, and they don't seem to draw boat loads of current like the Savox are known for. Ya pretty much can't go wrong with Hitec, unless you just pick the wrong one, of course. And there are so many! So it's easy to get corn-fused and maybe get the wrong thing, without a little advice. Happy to help! Cheers.

Oh, and as for waterproofing? You can make any servo pretty water resistant. Get a can of spray Plasti-Dip. Cover the spline shaft with tape and spray the whole servo a couple coats. Presto - "waterproof" servo. If you know you're going in water, also put some grease around the spline shaft where it meets the case.
