the rtr has plastic chassis, arms, toers, bulk head and rear top plate. the front bulkhead brace is different, the turnbuckles are different, the outdrives are different, motor plate is different, and the battery strap is different.

RE: difference between rtr RC10t4 and the FT RC10t4 HELP!!!
rtr has plastic (composite) parts, FT has stiffer and lighter molded carbon parts. the carbon parts are supposed to break with less force, but i've wrecked pretty bad and only lost a front a-arm and a rear body mount. both crashes were really bad flips and cartwheels. i watched a guy break 4 different parts in 2 hours on his plastic buggy. its mostly luck. i love my FT T4. most people say the GTB 5.5 has to much power for racing, i'm doing fine. buy whatever you want and make it work! people on this forum are really biased to products they own so be careful with the info you get. i bought what i wanted and its fine.

I would agree that the 5.5 is a little much for racing.... I own just about every brushless system under the sun, so I'm not biased at all -I love them equally! I would recommend some kind of brushed motor (depending on your track) for racing, as it will be much more effective on a track as opposed to just bashing...
