BTW, get the CVD's for the nitro RS4s (1 and 2, not 3), that's what i've been running in my Rally (since it IS a 200mm car with essentially the same differentials)

RE: HPI RS4 Rally

you guys all have local hobby shops right? I have to spend hours on the train each time I need or want parts. speaking of parts, I was in a hobby shop the other day, and I saw some mini-t wheels and tires. while looking at the slot in the back of the rear wheel, I thought of trying to enlarge the slot just a little so that I could mount them on the rally car. I could then put a truck body on the car to give it a BAJA look, and acheive decent body clearance. Has anyone tried converting their rally to a sort of truck before? I am curious to know how it would look and work.

Actually, Tamiya's got some 1.9" wheels for their S10 and F150 baja trucks

thanks for the compliments on the car, studysession.
I might try putting some buggy tires on it, that would help ground clearance. probably wouldn't work or look good with the subaru body though. I like the idea of making a baja truck out of it, that would be cool.

yes, I saw a proline chevy silverado touring body in the hobby shop the other day and figured that if I used tall body posts, it would have a nice look coupled with som buggy tires or something.

rally, the rs4 rally was discontinued.

you can get a Tamiya TT01 or something like that, they're cheap and tough.

instead of getting buggy tires try the super nitro wheel/tires for it that would help while retaining the spoked look.

On Good Friday, I took a road trip down to the jersey shore with my wife, and kind soul that she is, she let me stop in at the LHS we used to visit when we lived in the area (Jackson Hobbies). This store is kind of a treasure trove of older stuff and collector items, both car and plane items. Sitting on the shelves in the car section were TWO RS4 rally kits, both with the Focus body like mine. IIRC, they were around $170 each. So, if there are any rally fans around central Jersey, now you know where to go!
