RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
ORIGINAL: j.m. it doesn't look that good at all. dont say that man, thats a little on the ruff side, hey they say you get what you pay for. i have seen them, they look cool and they have alot of alloy on it and it looks good. but dont expect ultimate reliability and performance. |
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
I'd avoid it.
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
It reminds me of the redcat tornado epx...
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
Knowing the way the industry works it probably IS the same vehicle lol. Which isnt praise.
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
ok...does anyone actually HAVE one of these??
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
most likely not.
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
I have never heard of it before you made this thread. If your looking for a cheap 4wd buggy, go with the academy sb rtr.
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
Do you have any pics or a link to the buggy?
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy

RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
I wouldn't buy it unless you can get parts for it, Otherwise it is just a waste of money..........................
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
well u can get parts for it and for what i paid for it im pretty impressed. sure its a little slow but i had planned on switching out the motor asap anyway! i wasnt looking for a race ready buggy, i would have bought one if i was...
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
post some pics and a vid.
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
i will soon...i just cant get over the fact that this thing only cost $100!!
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
Hmm, I don't see anything so very wrong with it's design.. looks like a heavily built 1/8th scaled down to 1/10th... so yeah it might be slow.. but then my Feigao 9L on 3s would take care of that....... :D And then not crashing and needing parts will be greatly needed...

RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
I've got one. It does looks an awful lot like the Redcat Tornado. The first one that I got (http://www.nitrorcx.com) was broken, but the replacement one they sent works fine. It's a lot of fun for $100. Parts are modular (servos, receiver, ESC, axle hubs are 12mm hex). Be careful of the battery, though. Mine got really hot the first time I ran it and I had to re-solder the leads. Also, the instructions are incomplete. Does anyone here who has one know how to set the speeds on the ESC or how to turn off reverse?

RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
i got one and it's fast in my standard, they even have upgrades for em now and i am plannin to fix it up w/ alum parts, change the motors and esc, i think my car will be better than most name brand once i soup it up, it cost much cheaper for me :D
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
Any idea how to set the ESC? Where do you find hop - up parts?
|
RE: Exceed Sunfire buggy
Its the same thing as the redcat tornado. www.redcatracing.com has parts for them. Also I was at a hobbytown last week and they started to carry the redcat racing cars. Dont know if all their stores do though.
I have the redcat Tornado XL (shockwave), its a nitro RTR buggy with the same suspension setup as that one and its very nice for the $$. But the front and rear shock tower are super weak and bend easily. They sell upgraded ones for $30 for the pair. Other than that it has been an awesome truck. Not too shabby for $100 RTR nitro buggy http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...T/P1010265.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...T/P1010271.jpg |
