I haven't touched it though once your batteries get to hot they begin to loose their punch and if they get hot enough they will pop. |

RE: 16.8v emaxx batteries getting extremely hot
They are probably closer to 200 then and the problem will be degrading batts (it's already started) Either the truck is using them up too fast for some reason or they are really ge3tting old/junk. Maybe a little of both and if it's the batteries then they should be retired to a slow vehicle, crawler,roto-start, or lightweight stock 1/10 scale car.

RE: 16.8v emaxx batteries getting extremely hot
the batteries are only bout 6 months old and well i do only get 15 min out of them in my emaxx their 2000mAh
|
RE: 16.8v emaxx batteries getting extremely hot
The stock emaxx pulls lots of amps. If those packs are 2000mah then they arent going to last to long in that truck. You need to get some quality batteries. You will think its a new truck if you do.

RE: 16.8v emaxx batteries getting extremely hot
e-maxx probably should use minimum of 3300's and good quaity cells at that. 15 minutes is great though.
|
RE: 16.8v emaxx batteries getting extremely hot
You should put them in your other vehicles and get new ones for the maxx. If you dont they will not last too many more runs like that and you will have to buy some new ones anyway.

RE: 16.8v emaxx batteries getting extremely hot
Back when I used to race, my packs would be painfull to hold after a race. In my electric planes, I've melted the wrap off the cells. Some guys take the plastic wrap off and use kapton tape because they know that their setup will melt off the wrap. Nimh are pretty tough and they can handle it. I'm speaking mostly of GP cells though. Never tried any of the budget cells you see today. I wouldn't worry too much about a little heat though.
