ESC, [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdId=DYN4927&utm_source=froogle]http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdId=DYN4927&utm_source=froogle[/link] and for a motor, [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRBE7&P=FR]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRBE7&P=FR[/link] It is $10 more then you would have liked to spend, but it will really get your car moving fast.

I say find a xl-5 speed control new on auction, generally around 30 bucks and a titan 12 t motor for 20 bucks. This will get you going 30. Anything past that you should just look at a brushless system to go beyond 30mph reliably. the castle sidewinder combo would work best but its over you budget. A traxxas vxl combo can be had around 140 and is also a great deal and you can go as fast as you like there. The motor recommended above is fast but thats a lot of money for a brushed motor and it will need maintenance.

i`ll be totally honest there`s a sight called bbp,you said you can spend around 100,ok for 20 30 dollars more you can get a side winder brushless setup and it will satisfy all your needs now and in the future without having to replace brushes or motors every couple of months,so thats it do some reserch and enjoy the sidewinder, ther serch function is you best friend:D

As stated before go for the Sidewinder.. Save about 30 or so more and get it. I have the 4600 in my BX and I can get 38-40 mph confimed on 2 cell lipo. Now I am up to 3 cell lipo. I don't have a confirmed mph yet, but it will fly!!!

38-40 isn't that much with a 2cell lipo. But if you put that Team Checkerpoint motor in it it will probably go the same EVEN with a 6 cell pack.

RE: Evader ext motor + esc suggested upgrade

i like the 4600 it`s forgiving on the drivetrain but also can take lots of volts for blazing speed

do i have to change the pinion gears or anything

Hardin Valley Magic 04-24-2008 05:26 PM

RE: Evader ext motor + esc suggested upgrade

Not neccaceraly. I ran stock for a bit then started changing to suit my needs for dirt and asphalt. I am very pleased with my 4600. Can be put straight in and ran. However, if you want to change throttle curves and brake curves you can, with the usb adapter.

RE: Evader ext motor + esc suggested upgrade

you know what sucks i changed the rear hubs to blue alluminum ones cause the plastic in the other ones stripped and now all the time the rear axle breaks cause it creates a weak spot. its broken like 6 times allready

so what other parts have you upgraded on your bx

is the sidewinder combo or the mamba max combo better

Not fimiliar with the max set up. I just have the sidewinder and I know how much I like it.. But the sidewinder is down about 30 % on power from the max same set up. It says so in the paper work that came with it.
As for upgrades, all I have done is replaced the idler gear with one from a nitro and changed the diff gear with one from a assoc. B2 and diff rings from the same..Everything else is stock..

niceeee ty

RE: Evader ext motor + esc suggested upgrade

Max is better and the sidewinder is cheaper and i believe it is less efficient. A better investment is the novatech bl system because it will give good efficiency 80% and will give a forgiving power to the tranny but will be better than many brushed systems.
