Default TT01 kit question

I'm looking through my tt01 kit instructions and have a question about the paper motor gasket. I will be using a 3racing aluminum motor mount and EZRUN 9t motor. My question is should I use the gasket or not? When I built my CC01 kit I did use the gasket with the stock motor and plastic motor mount.

The wax thin cardboard motor gasket that comes with almost all Tamiya kits is included as a standard item. Its purpose is to cover up the slots on the Mabuchi 540 motor's can, to prevent gearbox lube and any other dirt from entering the inside of the motor.

As long as your BL motor's can is sealed, you can set that motor gasket aside.

I have a GPM alloy motor mount on my TA02, mounted to a Castle Creations CM36 4600Kv motor. I took that same gasket and set it aside with all the other stock spares I have for it.

However, if your motor does have vents or slots where the gasket is supposed to go, and you're concerned about fouling it up, it wouldn't hurt anything to use it

Thanks, I don't think I'll be using it.

Very good.

It has no factor for timing or spacing on the motor anyways, it's just a courtesy wax reinf. poly-ply paper sheild for Mabuchi motors

Glad to help tho

I remember someone told me it prevents cast motor mounts from cracking, but I never cracked a motor mount even when temperatures have once hit 230 degrees.

Dragnes7en is correct, it prevents stuff like grease from getting into your motor if you motor has openings like a mabuchi
