What colour do you reckon you'll do yours? Have you gone for the mark one or two?

I ordered the mk1! Been thinking about doing the rothmans theme on it to match the mk2 that I have...! Not sure yet though...still waiting for delivery....
also not sure what I will be doing for the chassis...will probably do a custom job like I did for the mk2 ....

Sticker bombed and carbon fibred... And I think I'm finally finished... I may carbon fibre the boot lid but I'm undecided.. Thoughts and comments welcome :-).. this is the end of two years work (chassis included)

Wowsa! That looks freakin awesome! Love the carbon bonnet and the fender graphics ! You should try an interior or at least a dashboard ! Looks like a winner for sure!Ha! Talk about inspiring..... Gonna get started on my building again tonight! Still waiting for my mk1 shell though.

haha cheers man, ive definitely taken time to think about this one, hence taking so long to finish it.. I wouldn't know where to even start with an interior and to be fair I like to see all the components and the chassis myself. but I could try and see how I get on and id probably end up liking it.

it will be cool to see yours once its done.

I had to change the servo to a low profile one as the standard pushed the shell out and looked dumb! The low pro sits perfectly behind the shell with a good cm of space between it and the shell

Oh and the pollythingy bumper wouldn't fit behind the nose of the shell so had to make my own little custom protector for the front and reposition the front body posts

Latest addition, a little more sticker bombing and a tale pile. I'm doing nothing more to this car (for now lol)

R32GolfTA06: very nice! The chassis is beautiful and it is cool that you paired it with an escort body!

Thanks for all your nice comments :-) I wouldn't worry guys, my shell took a long time and it was only
going from Holland to the UK which is only an hour and a half flight time away! I'm not sure why his postage is so slow, considering things I order from HK have arrived in less than a week!

I want to use a sway bar to make the front suspension system, the sway bar is used at the same tiime to triangulate the lower suspension arm:

I dont know which sway bar from which car would fit nicely. I need the bar to be wide so it reaches the suspension arms far enough, and I also need a specific distance between the bends so they sit just outside of the chassis rails...

Anybody of you guys have a bunch of sway bar equiped cars and would be able to give dimensions? I would like to know the overall width, the width

Sorry about the partial post.. Something is not quite right with my ipad when posting on rcu...

The only bar that looks somewhat appropriately shaped is the corally rdx bar (found that on ebay) but I have no clue about the actual scale of that pic so I dont know... I might end up buying a few inexpensive random bars and hope something fits lol

or do you guys have any ideas or tricks to make a bar like this, DIY style, and have some spring in it? Not regular steel.

What dimensions are you looking for, Fred ? I think I have a sway bar laying around for one of my Super Nitro's. Will have to try and dig it up......

That would be great! I will measure and let you know. I find that most cars have the two bends real close to each other, because they are mounted on the gearbox usually.

here is a pic of a corally rdx, it looks like it might be close enough to work, I'll do some mspaint scale measurements, knowing the car is 190mm track width:

Ok I have just measured, I would need at least 2.5" between the bends. And ideally enough lenght outside of the bends to be able to attach to the lower arms at 4.5" width. Some extra metal will allow me to add a bend near the ends so I can run the sway bar through the lower arm.

Cool Preston! You got it started haha

I Have just noticed the link to your escort thread I put in the opening post is wrong.. But I cant seem to be able to edit the post, is there a limit of time after which you cannot edit posts??

Here is the correct link for those who have not seen Preston's MK2 escort build yet:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-e...oad-car-4.html

And his thread on scale4x4rc:
