Smile Tamiya king hauler and turnigy radio

Hi Guys. I bought a tamiya king hauler last month(planning on making a tank hauler for my leopard). It's got the mfc-01 in it and I got a good deal on the turnigy 9x radio set. The rx only has 8 useable channels and the instructions are crap, but it was cheaper than what tamiya recommended, the futaba attack. Anyways I'd like to program the radio so that I can get all the functions. Right now the truck will start, go left/right and forward/reverse but I can't get the radio to make the horn sound or control the lights. I have J1(i/p shift) connected to Channel 1 of the rx, channel 2 is not connected, channel 3 is J5 (i/p throttle), channel 4 is J4 (i/p steering). Does anyone have this radio/truck combo ? Sure would be a lot easier if the channel receiver was labelled for trucks...lol. I have a flasher for the cab and hope to put a smoker in but if someone can help me set up the radio to control the horn/lighting and let me know if I've got the right plugs in the right channels I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!..Ian
