Make sure the big screws behind the pivot balls arent tight, if they are it creates drag which will cause your steering to not center correctly.

There is no specific amount of spacers that will work thats why you should go to the link in my past post. the adj nut should not be tightened all the way, it in fron od it one side a thread should be showing and on another two threads should be showing, read the r40 manual also. I know how to do it but it's too difficult to explain the spacing to you without acutally looking at the clutch myaelf sorry man. use the links.

Yeah he is down and I said I'll go too. It will save me $5 which can go to gas for the xtra mileage. He said he's "loyal" to prospeed. Pretty kewl place and I never been there so it should be really fun.

All right see you there, you should really get back into touring cars man. I'll be running my RRR but i'll have my R40 on the side so if anything like maybe not enough people in 1/8th scale you can use it. Only thing is that the engine can't hold an A-main, the piston sleeve will be done with in atleast 8minuts of hard racetuned running, If you have an engine on the side then be my guest.

Naw man the way I run my engines they last long. I had the V12, MT12, and now this Nova Top for long times under like race conditions with ease. I'll get back into touring when I make more $$, but for now it's 8th all the way. Besides I'm already set as I have:

setup board
setup gauges
tires
someparts
tire truer with arbor for 8th

So now I just need to stock on plugs, parts, n tires. Sedan I need a whole array of items. I'll sit outta sedan for now as some 8th guys are coming to prospeed.

I was talking about the engine in my r40 it's been through three race season's with oring replacements and one pinched sleeve. The sleeve can't hold up for a whole A-main but will hold up during a heat. Just offering the car to you if you wanted to run touring at prospeed in the case of not enough 1/8th scales showing up.

Hi Everyone:
I have some stupid doubt.
1.- What differentail gasket I can use? I cannt find in HPI the part number of this pieces. Another option to work.
2.- I would like to know, how I know the difference of the standar shaft and the another one in my motor? I have a MaxPower .12
3.- How I can adjust the anti-squat of this car?

The gaskets are on tower hobbies. Click on the R40 car and check for parts

Standard shaft is heavier and made of more components that SG crankshaft. Using SG, the bearings sit on the crankshaft so they spin true. On a std crankshaft the threads can strip and cause wobble which makes gear mesh a pita to do. I'd like to even run SG in my GT...std crank I never really liked. Here's a comparison photo.

For adjusting squat you adjust the droops screws in the rear of the car.

Thk U for the information.
I see in the towerhobbies, but they only sell the gasket togueter with the differential box. I looking if they only sell only the gasket.

In reference of the adjusting squat I need to adjust the droops screws, but I dont sure what is it. Z725 or Z723.

It would be Z725. That one that comes in contact with the chassis. Look on the underside on the arm.

Default RE: the OFFICIAL R-40 thread !

well i decided to try out the 5-port motor today (the one pictured in the post above) its a sirio evo2 5-port outlaw. anyway it started with no problem the high needle was closed to about 1/2 turn out it was way too lean to run so everytime i would give throttle it would die, after getting the engine tuned it starts and runs great for about 5 min but then after its good and warm (245 dgrees) or so it becomes very unstable it idles odd like speeds up and slows down and will then die usually when i hit the throttle after leaving a curve,
any ideas? i'm thinking the engine may be worn out as i bought it used and really dont know if its ever been rebuilt
