My motor cage has a mount for the fan, but I imagine it would get cooler if I mounted the fan on top of the heat sink.

Well I am running the mamba max and a Nemesis Blue 540 13S. That is suppose to be a brushless motor comparable to a 27T brushed. However after installing and running it easily will keep up to a MOD brushed motor. I was running a stock silver can before. So looks like next race I will be running mod.

Funny thing I bought this motor cheap thinking it would be crap. Found out it's basically a Feiago motor. Got it for $50 from fine design.
I think it was a steal!

This Sunday I'll report back how my stock brushless does against mod sedan.

Has anyone tried running washers below the friction dampners to keep them level?

The last weekend I raced, I was knocked out in practice. I was running the 3Racing graphite T-bar, when I hit the wall I was sideways. The T-bar cracked and of course nobody stocks Tamiya parts locally. So I was done for the day. This is the second time I have cracked the T-bar. In my opnion the T-bar is the weak link on this car. I ordered a Kawada fiberglass T-bar. We will see how it works.

The car was hooking up good. Only problem I dialed my brakes down a bit before heading to the track. Well for some reason I had no brakes at all. This is part of why I slammed the wall.

Yes I started with the stock part, and the Mamba ripped it in half. Since then I took the mamba out and put a slower motor in the car.

I am sure the T-bar didn't get "rip it half" unless there was a crash, no?!

Yes I crashed it. The Mamba got so fast the front of the car lifted off the ground. I was doing a speed run just to see how fast it would go.

But this is the part of the car I keep breaking.

I was curious if the 3-point suspension set on that link is any good.

Has anyone tried running the 1/18th mamba ESC and motors in this car? I think the car is light enough, and if you gear it down maybe you will be okay.

Will a orion 3200 lipo burn up the ESC?

I bought this thing, probably not the best choice as my first street car, but I learn fast and have a good trigger finger. I bought some purple JACO foam tires and have a P2K2 pro on order, the stock motor has a little too much torque for me, lol. To get to the point, I robbed the servo off of my destroyed Kyosho Madforce and its not very good. It does the job for now, but its old and worn out.
I've been out of the hobby for quite a while now... And I dont know what is good anymore, so I need some recommendations as to what I should buy for this thing.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...0705&rd=1&rd=1
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...9759&rd=1&rd=1
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...4944&rd=1&rd=1

Other than this particular servo, I think I'm pretty much clear on what to replace. (using an older Novak XRS sport reversible, its gotta go. )

Thanks in advance from a newb,

This car doesn't require a lot of fancy electronics. It requires an easy throttle trigger.

There isn't a whole lot to buy for it. Good tires........ maybe a TRF shock and a metal motor mount.

Yeah, I bought some nice foam tires for it. And the motor mount/shock are currently ordered.

I have replaced 2 broken T-bars already. This is a pretty simple kit.

Cool, I'm having a lot of fun with this kit. Its definitely a LOT different than my Kyosho Madforce, in a very good way. Simple, fun and freaking fast. I gotta get rid of my Novak XRS, though. The reverse is driving me bonkers, I bought it thinking I could shut it off but no dice. On a better note,my p2k2 pro came in today, installing it and playing with the diff tomorrow at work.

Is the stock silver can really 25t?

I put the Epic 27t in this thing and wow. After I dialed the diff in, it freaking rips. And yay, I broke my first part! Cornered a little too hard and slid into a car tire at work, bye bye battery door
