I'd suggest a Tamiya TT-01. They're well built cars and pretty popular too.

I agree. Also, when you feel like buying hop-ups, there's bundle's of parts for the TT01! Almost everything on the car can be hopped-up!!

Are you going to be racing or just bashing? I'd suggest the TB-02 over the TT01. Both kits would be easy to build, the TB02 gives you more options out of the box and if you look around it can be had for the same or near the same price as a tt01

What are you planning on doing with it? Racing? Drifting? Just running it on the driveway/parking lot?

The TT01 is a decent car for drifting but if you're planning any type of racing I'd suggest going with something a little better such as a TA05 or TB02. The TA05 is great if you're only going to be racing it, but if you plan to ever run it in a parking lot then go with the TB02.

TA05 does fine in parking lot. Don't believe the myth that you can't run belts in a parking lot.

LOL, I'm not believing a myth, I'm living the reality. I have a TA04 and in just a few months of running it I've gotten tons of pebbles caught in the belts/pulleys and have destroyed two belts in the process. I've tried everything from sweeping and leaf blowing the parking lot to making my own lexan pulley guards, but these things still collect tons of rocks. Now whenever I'm using the car I wind up worrying about getting rocks caught in the belts.

TS: Learn from my mistakes, buy a shaft drive if you're planning on running on unkept parking lots. TB02, TC3, TC4...you'll thank me later.

I have a TA05 and been running it in unprepped parking lot with zero issues. I have not broken one belt or done anymore damage to the spur than the shaft driven TC4 I had. This parking lot was very rocky due to dirt roads coming into it. I actually had more issues with rocks with the TC4 than the TA05. Rocks would get jammed next to the shaft and act as a lathe and the steering crank on the tc4 was so low that a rock would always get stuck in there and lock the steering.

Tamiya TA-05, great for bashing, then is a good competition car if you start racing (mine is just as good on the track as a b/l Serpent)
