MY E10 DRIVETRAIN UPGRADES & WALLET DAMAGE:

Replaced bushings with bearings - $10.90

Yeah Racing Aluminium driveshafts - $7.88 main shaft, $2.90 short shaft

Hot Racing Aluminium motor mount - $17.88

Locked rear diff with blue tack - Free

Later today I am going to try running a Castle Creations 5700kv motor with drift tires and see how everything holds up. I will be using stock gearing (22/65) and running thesebatteries.

Welp, got it all hooked-up and it runs great! The front diff gets pretty loud at speed but other than that everything is normal. No twisted dogbones, no instantly stripped spurs, and no stripped diff gears.

My sidewinder is setup with 50% punch control, normal motor timing, and default throttle curve. I didnt want to go all-out on the drivetrain right at the start and I'm glad I didn't. Tires break easily even with the punch control. I only need a quarter to half throttle for drifting around my garage. After running through a battery the motor was only at 90 degrees. I do have a heat sink on it. I am probably going to put a 24t pinion in it because the motor didn't even break a sweat with the 22t.

You dont need either to drift, but both help make your car drift better.

I would suggest that you lock the reardiff only because it is basically free to do using stuff you havelaying around the house. I usedsome sticky blue tack in between all the gears. Try to use something that gives you the option of removal incase you want to go back to limited slip for some reason.

Hey guys, loks like a good forum here

Inoticed lots of people have been asking questions and i'd like to add one more (being a beginner and all )

Irecently bought a second hand E10, its all stock apart (touring set up)from having a 4500Mah battery and charger. It was running perfectly yesterday, but I slid and hit a door and since then its not been right. It wasn't a big crash and there doesn't appear to be any damage at all, but when the throttle is used rather than makinf the usual whining, there's also a clicking kind of noise too. Its coming fom somewhere around the rear diff and cog that is turned by the pinion (forgot name!). I've taken the whole thing apart twice andhad no luck figuring out whats wrong.

any ideas? thanks waddy.

spur gear??

as for the sound maybe its a gear mesh issue... I have swapped out my spur a few days ago and its making a hell of a racket on my 9t ezrun set up when i go over say 50% throttle and i to cant for the life of me figure out the why...

HPI alu motor mount/35amp esc/9t ezrun/pinion:23t/spur=stock/3000mah battery and it sounds fine up to until 50% throttle then it goes totally ape solid-excrement...

that HPI system is a rebranded mamba max which i hear good things about... I personally use a 35amp/9t ezrun system i got on ebay for 40 bucks or so 4300kv on 2s lipo is plenty fast for me... warranty might not be as awesome as the castle service but i beat mine senseless and its still going and 20 bucks for a new -60amp- esc (not sure what an engine costs) isnt to bad now is it if you smoke one;P

you might need to (drastically) swap your gearing around due to the new (alot) higher powered motor...

Broke my first part after going brushless. It was a wheel spacer on the right rear. I got an extra set with the car but was wondering where I could buy some more at online. The breakage could have been from a wall collision because all the others seem fine.
Also, has anyone played with changing the spacers for different wheel offsets? The stock setup has the rears a little wider than the fronts, I was thinking about trying to push the fronts wider to match the rears. Any input would be appreciated

My car gets louder the faster I go but I don't think I'm getting the sounds that billdozer is getting. Have you done all the mods I have done to my car? If not, I would start by doing those because mine is good.

I back in gear i found after tearing apart my e-10 that the reason it was not running right was the gear was not sitting in stright and binding it all up. Newbie mistake. haha

Could someone please show/tell me how to install the Yeah Racing Aluminum Bearing Steering Set? The one that replaces the plastic steering linkage set. Do I also need to have the Yeah Racing Aluminum Front Knuckle Arm set?

no

the balls will face up on the arms with the bearings and face down on the stock knuckle arms.

If you have to twist the sockets onto the threaded rods, remember that one end is backwards when twisting it on and use the stockconnectorsas guides for the length and fine tune once installed.

Don't over tighten the screws that go through the bearings. Screw these pieces on first and check that they turn easily with your finger before connecting everything up

thanks for the tips, i didnt realize one end of the rods was backwards. That was why i coulnt get the sockets on.

I am still strugling to get the balls attached to the stock knuckle arms. It seems like the threading isnt quite the same. Any tips there?

They never tightened up to the plastic like they do on the metal. They will just keep spinning and strip out the hole in the plastic. Just twist it in till the hex is touching the arm and the screw is almost flush with the other side of the arm.

Mine aren't snug but dont fall off. If you put everything together right, the socket will move on the ball and wont be trying to pull the piece out. I havent had any problems with them coming out.

Hey Guys.

The Oni Kyan Adjustable Arm set is back in stock at HPIRacing.com. I ordered mine on Tuesday and they'll be here tomorrow. GET THEM WHILE YOU CAN. I've been waiting for them to get back in stock since last Nov.

I'll post pics when I get them installed.
