Default TC3 with Mamba max 7700

Well here is my current setup...

TC3 body
rebuilt / relubed diffs
blue front springs / yellow rear 30weight oil in shocks
Foam tires
Mamba Max ESC
Mamba 7700kv motor...
2200mah lipo 2s 35C busrt battery (id like to get a 5,000mah battery soon)

Im running 72t spur and a 17t pinion... speed are in the 35 - 40mph... does this seem right? I was thinking of changing to a 20t pinion and see. the motor does not get that hot right now, 8+ mins running topspeed and still able to touch motor.

What sugguestions would u give for gearing for top speed?
I was thinking about getting the clip on heatsink from AE and coating it with thermal paste to increase heat transfer...

I have 5700kv motor and use 85t spur and 25t pinion and 3s Lipo It runs kind of hot but I have the speed that I wanted, about 55mph. However my TC3 was nitro that I converted to electric. I think you should up your pinion gear may be 25t and see if you like it or not. Just keep on checking your temp.

I didn't get it from anybody. I had to buy TC4 motor mount, and single speed TC3drive shatf (my TC3 nitro was a two speed), TC4 spure gear and did some drilling on my own. Let me know if you want some help.

One more thing. I just change the pinion gear to 30teeth and it run cooler then when I have 25teeth. Don't ask me why so. Now I can touch the motor longer than 3 second. My speed is about 65mph with 85t spure and 30t pinion using 3s 20c lipo.

that sounds better. it was undergeard mass. a 7700 on 2s in a road car
geared right, should go 60+ with ease.
