**Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
Here's my YR4 M2 on my pit board. It's in pieces for cleaning. I seriously burned some rubber last week with this car,
look at the tire wear on these Venom pre-mounted wheels and tires-nothing but slicks now. That was 2 battery runs. Believe it or not I get really good runtime outa this Novak XBR 8.5 system I chose for it. Maybe 13-15 mins It's impossible to over gear this 1999 Yokomo car. I'm running a 87 tooth spur and 19 tooth pinon, I might be undergeared. Any yokomo on-road car can be talked about or posted here, feel free to post any pictures or tips for other Yokomo users. http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...oYR4MII003.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...oYR4MII004.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...oYR4MII005.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...oYR4MII001.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...oYR4MII002.jpg |

RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
At the risk of sounding un-knowledgeable...what is the concept behind "touring"? Is it a form of racing, or is it just taking your car out and running it around wherever you feel like it?

RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
I just run mine in an empty parking lot close to my house.
We havent offically started on-road racing here yet. But we are supposed to eventually. |

ORIGINAL: The Collector1 I never owned a Yokomo, dont know why I think its a fine company, BTW 2 runs? Good job:D The only tires I've had good experinces with are HPI tires, most of them have long tread life. Yeah 2 runs on those tires is pathetic.[:'(] All the car wants to do is slide around now....lol |
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**

I threw that brushless in it for a reason. |
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
This thread is a bit old, but, I will try to revive it because I have some inquiry to have my yokomo up and running.
I have an old Yokomo MR4TC Kit with part number MR4TC-1 purchased sometime 1998. This car still in good running condition and I have some extra spares to have it running. I used to race this car before but with the popularity of drifting, I wanted to convert this car into a Drift Car. My concern right now is I wanted to purchase a Hardened Rear Universals, since this car has been discontinued years ago, and parts are now very scarce, I wanted to know if the Yokomo MR4TC-BD/SD/etc. rear universals would fit this car ? Is there any other alternative for me to use other than get a new kit ? Thanks, your responses will be appreciated. :D |
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
Bump....my car.....;)
|
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
A picture would help me out alot. I looked that car up and couldnt find any parts since yokomo's site is down.
Looks like mine wont be ran again for a while either, since I cant get parts. Might have to get another onroad car. |
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
I had been exploring and searching from various websites about the dimensions of the DB series shafts and other parts and try to compare it against my current one, but to no avail. I know that stormers website was posted as "in-stock" but that was a few months back. If I will not be able to source an alternative, I guess my MR4TC will be sold as a Vintage thru those on-line auction. Pity, I have a lot of spares including a spare stock chassis SP series.
Would it be nice if there is an actual picture comparing the old MR4 series as against the BD ? What would you think ? |
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
Found some: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260156583643
Is this the car you have: http://www.rceasy.com/2007/11/07/yok...asami-special/ Is this what your looking for? |
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
Before I finally lay this car into complete retirement, I am seeking for someone who can help me out in providing to a the actual measurement of your rear universal for a Yokomo MR4TC BD or SD. I only need the overall length (end-to-end) of the shaft and the and the lenght of the axle. I wanted to compare these measurements from my old MR4TC before I purchase a replacement rear univerals. Another retirement place is interested to take this car in.
I am desperate, need your help. [&:] |
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
the old mr4tc belt drive like the mr4tc special have different cvd shafts than the newer bd/sd

Ok, hummm, very subjective.....does this mean different shafts is totally different in terms size, dimension, etc, blah, blah, blah....?
I have attached my working piece of the rear universals and measured it using my digital caliper. I just wanted to know if the dimensions are way too different than the new BD's rear universals regardless of hardened or low friction. Please let me know what you think ? Yokomo's website does not do much of a help. |
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
hi, i have just bought a mr4-tc chassis on ebay for £26 but it has some parts missing. The front drive belt, rear left hub carrier, front diff, shocks and front drive shafts are missing. Has anyone got any idea where to get these parts from? i have looked on ebay and found some, but not all the parts so i was also wondering if anyone had any they would be willing to sell me. I intend to use the chassis to build a high speed electric car capable of hopefully 100mph.
Thanks, Aidan
|
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
does the yokomo yr-4 special include full ball bearings?
|
RE: **Official Yokomo Touring Car Thread**
Getting ready to convert mine over to a dirt oval car. I'll be posting picks of my homemade conversion in the
next couple weeks. But we will have a class for 4x4 touring cars on the oval in a few weeks.[8D] It's a dirt oval track with practically no dust what so ever so a belt-drive should do fine. |
