Newbie Looking for a competitive 1/10th RTR Touring car!!

Hallo boys,

I`am a newbie in rc cars but very excperienced RC Aerobatics pilot i just got the hots for rc cars and i want to start competing at a local club and they have the 1/10th touring car category that they compete in.

I`am looking for a very competitive setup rtr it could be electric or glow doesn`t matter i just want the best frame suited for performance.

I was looking at the Hot Bodies Cyclone S RTR and it seems nice but it looks like it`s an discontinued design and maybe their could be a better car out there.

I really liked the Team Magic E4JR RTR but it looks that this car didn`t last long on the market really sucks looks like a very nice car.

Any suggestions would be appreciated it could be E-power or Glow just want the most competitive.

Thanks guys.

If I were you, I'd go to one of those races, and ask around. See what the fast guys are running; tires, nitro/brushless, or whatever. That way, you can jump right into a class well equipped, rather than show up with something that may or may not fit the rules. ;)

The cyclone is made for competitions and not discontinued they are releasing a new one at the end of the month. You will be decently equipped with one RTR or kit. Prepare to upgrade it to stay competitive depending on which cyclone model you get.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the info guys i will be at the next races for sure but i`am sure any of the 1/10th touring frames will qualify.

I was looking for the Cyclone S RTR at Tower Hobbies and they only have the Drifter and here`s the link http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRSV1 it says this car is discontinued.

Do you have a link for this new car from Hot Bodies?,is it going to be a RTR version?.

Greg.

That's not a drifter model. That's a World Champion Edition! Also there are 4 old models that are discontinued and there is 6 models of the cyclone available right now.

All available Hot Bodies' Cars

Sorry my bad i know that`s not a drifter model that`s the touring version.
What i meant was that it stock status at tower says that it is a discontinued model.Maybe tower is not selling them any more who knows..!!,i got confused for a minute.

Now i see that at Hot Bodies it`s not discontinued it`s very confusing what tower hobbies did cause you clearly see that it says discontinued and i thought that they are not selling them anymore anywhere.

And the only Hot Bodies Cyclone S RTR that tower sells is the drift version and i`am not interested in this.

Thanks for your help.

Can you tell me more about this new release?.

Is it going to be a 1/10 Touring car RTR or kit?.
If it`s going to be a new version of the Cyclone S RTR Touring i could wait and see how it turns out.

I was searching the Hot Bodies site but couldn`t find anything related to a new release version.

The chassis may work, but the equipment may not. Just be sure you get wheels, tires, a body, motor and battery that fit the rules. ;)

Hi Greg,

The Cyclone is a great car out of the box, but if your budget can stretch to it try to get the Cyclone TC. The Cyclone S needs a bit of money spent on it to make it competitive.

Also be aware that Hot Bodies are releasing the TCX chassis soon as a Cyclone TC replacement.

As mentioned, look around at your local track to see what chassis other people are using. Spare part availability is also a factor.

Good luck,

Hi Steve,

I could wait and buy the TCX but do you think i could handle this car?.

Is this car not intended for expert driving and building skills?.

I`am an experienced rc planes pilot and when someone is initiating in the hobby they have to buy a Trainer model for beginners.

I don`t want to buy this car and having it not driving correctly because i`am not able to adjust all the things on the frame corectly because of my inexperience,if you know what i mean..!!.

But if it`s not so bad i could wait for the TCX.

I just don`t want to invest soo much money and at the end not be able to enjoy the super capabillities of this car because of a bad setup.

Greg.
