I was just on a site today that had it for 169.99 and yea it had the controller and it was G2, darn! i forget where it was, and shippin was $7 on 3 day

I ordered G2 from Tower on Tuesday. $199 less the $15 coupon, along with a $20 gift certificate, and free shipping for Super Savers.
So, that's $164 delivered, and I'll have it by Friday. I couldn't find it used on eBay for that!

Galloping Ghost I just did the same thing you did, only I'm not a super saver so I optioned for the lowest shipping at $4.99 with the $15 it comes to around 189.94 then you'll receive a $20 gift certificate along with the package.

That's the best deal I could find. I still think it's over priced compared to other "game" software, but it's a relatively small market, hence the high price.[
] And you do get the controller, which I'm sure cost them at least $3.00 out of the far east!

You can call RealFlight whatever you want, but I have racing sims, namely F1 2002, that are far more sophisticated than G2, and I paid $4.77 for F1 2002 at Walmart. Granted, G2 comes with a controller, but the controller costs them maybe $3 max. to produce in China.
I received G2 today from Tower and spent over an hour with their tech support and it still won't recognize the USB controller. They said they would call me back but didn't. I have never had a software/hardware issue with this machine until RFG2.
I have a year old computer, AMD Athlon 1800+ processor, Radeon 7500 video card, 512 ram, and so forth. The tech person thought this was the dream system for G2, but it won't work!!!
I am very disappointed so far with my RFG2 experience. I hope they come through for me.
I received G2 today from Tower and spent over an hour with their tech support and it still won't recognize the USB controller. They said they would call me back but didn't. I have never had a software/hardware issue with this machine until RFG2.

I have an extra controller for the usb port, that I would sell pretty reasonable, pm me if interested. Is there any advantage to the new usb controller over the older one that plugs into the game port?

Mr Ghost. Your systems sounds great. I don't know much about computers, just enough to get mine in trouble all the time, but it sounds like you have motherboard or driver issue.
All I can suggest is patches/updates and new drivers from the manufacturer. If you have windows then I saw an update for USB's on there... sigh... good luck!

As far as I know. USB is a new standard as-well as being faster input/output and it can power the unit attached to it (although it is limited... how much juice? I don't know). Most Pcs have USB ports on the front of the system just for this kind of purpose.

Get R/C Plane Master for only $50, and any interface that works for FMS will work with Plane master and it has all the same features as RealFlight, plus head to head flying too. You can't beat that price, RealFlight costs a lot more (not worth the price even with the control)...

I just saw this thread and bought G2 for $179.97 with $10 Promotional discount and the $20 Gift certificate. It's amazing they have several prices for the same items. Thanks for the input.
