Phoenix 3.0 Update Problem
 

Has anyone downloaded the new 3.0 update? I have tried several times, but for some reason it will not load properly. Called Horizon and tech really can't help, and sent an email to Phoenix to see if they can help. No answer yet.

Perservere! It took me 4 tries berfore it caught. Keep after it. It is no longer beta but is now a final release 3.0.m[

I finally got it to work. I ended up downloading the update, uninstalling Phoenix, reinstalling Phoenix, and updated with the downloaded update defore I opened Phoenix for the first time after reinstall. It worked that time and opened Phoenix to choose which updates I wanted to install.

I've tried several times through auto update and nothing happened. I then tried manual update and downloaded for 2+ hours and end up with "Error reading setup initalization file" several times. Anybody with this issue?

Yeah! Same here!I have tried to udate to 3.0 and it kicks me out of phoenix everytime. I tried also to download a couple planes and that did not work either. i saw on another forum(heli freaks)that this was as much an issue in 2008!!! So, I went to the Phoienix site and as I write this I am downloading the update from THERE. it is a race with my toenails growing...and right now my toenails are winning. The download is 190 meg and it is 'proceeding' at a megaslow 20k. Phoeniz needs to get on this issue. I have NO kind of problems with other things. for $129.00 clams for a cd...I am a bit miffed i cannot even upgrade or download the planes.

I just got mine three days ago. I like it ...but I don't think I would have bought it had I known how lame the upgradability is. I would have hooked up some servos to my ferrets and enjoyed THAT for much less $$$.

I will let you know how(or even IF) the down'slowed' works.

If you haven't gotten it to work yet, try selecting RUN in the download dialog box instead of SAVE.</p>

Have you gotten it to work yet? I posted what it took to get mine to work. This is the only update that I have had problems with. All other updates have worked flawlessly.

I don't know if the problems are because of the size of the file or what. Like I said; all other updates have worked fine, but they are smaller files.

Just keep trying. If it fails delete the saved file and try again. It took several times but ir did work.
