Real Flight Basic
Anyone running this on an older PC? I have a Pentium 4that seems to meet the criteria for it but don't want to spring for the hundred bucks just to find out it's all choppy... my graphics card does 3D but again, it's an older card. I basically need someone with a similar configuration to chime in... Thanks</p> |
RE: Real Flight Basic
i would'nt spend 100 clams on realflight basic, when you can get the full version of 4.5 on the forums for that. heck if you running an outdated pc, then you need phoenix rc sim.
as a side not, i did run realflight g4 on an older pc a few years ago. it was a hp pav m7300e single core amd athlon4000+ 2gb ram, 160hd, 450watt psu and a nividia 8800gt video card with 512 onboard ram, ran rfg4, and 4.5 upgrade seamless. very smooth. hope this helps a tiny bit. |

RE: Real Flight Basic
I agree with with 2far4u, don't spend $99 on the basic RF. I have both RF 5.5 and Clearview on my desktop. A Dell Dimension 4700, Pentium 4 2.8 ghz and 4 gb of RAM with a Radone 300 videocard w/ 128mb mem.
The system runs the RF 5.5 great as well as the Clearview - not at the sametime though:D Clearview is a pretty good sim, nice graphics and a good choice of trainers. With a $40 software investment an n $18 6ch controller from Hobbypartz it is a pretty good deal. The RF 5.5 though is more sophisticated with a lot of user set enviroment features such as wind direction, speed and gusting (turbulense). great traing landings with gusty crosswinds. If you can spring for it take a good look at RF 5.5. Goodluck. You will get a lot of opiinions I will wager - that is good! :) |
