Laptop G2 USB Report/147 frames per second
Good news, G2 works awsome with laptops. As some of you may remimber I posted a few weeks ago about "laptops and sims". I had ordered a Dell Inspiron 8100 1.2 Ghz. P-3,15" UltraHigh res monitor, 30 gig hard drive 512MB sys memory and the ATI Radeon 64 MB video card. The reason I have not posted about my set up is I had a few problems, graphics shutering not able to see jets when flying and a few other small things, but all in all it was workable.
The problem was a driver problem, Dell worked with me to try and resolve the problem but ATI is very slow about getting driver up-dates to the OEM's. Dell instead did somthing I could not believe, although Dell was not responsable for the problem they up-dated "at no charge to me" my entire computer to a Dell Inspiron 8200 1.6 Ghz P-4, UltraSharp UltraHigh res monitor same size hard drive and sys memory, but with the nVidia 64MB DDR 4X AGP video card, no problems now and would you believe Frame Rates of 147 FPS . My set up to get this is as follows: Graphics Quality Texture= Highest Graphics=Highest Terrain Density=200 with every thing else turned on. Stock flying field=Green Canyon with every thing turned on flying a stock Extra Special Frame Rates at this flying site below the skyline is 47 FPS with a frame rate of 128 once I clear the tree line. "and thats with every thing on and MAXED out. The field that I like to fly has a few things turned off, Rainbow Canyon/Adair at Corvallis every thing turned off except grass,Level 2 trees, using both dirt and aspalt runways, no 3D terrain flying an Aeroworks X300S Profile with the Su-Do-Khoi paint scheme(both from the GP RF G2 web site) I get a 147 FPS I think this is about as good as it gets on a laptop. Lee PS: BUY A DELL!! |
