sim for entry level
 

Can anybody help me here?

I need a sim for a beginner. I currently have JR 7 channel Tx, so need software only, but also any interface detail. My computer has USB, microphone, headset, memory stick, monitor and printer jacks. I need to know what to buy, where to buy it, etc. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm after 'plug & play' software with not much/nothing to do in the way of adaption.

If there is a thread dealing with this already, please point me, and I'll go there and save some space here.

I would recommend FMS, its free and very good. It will only cost you the adaptor cord which can be had for under $20. On ebay there are even software packages with a lot of models all compiled onto one CD with the adaptor for only slightly more than $20 in some cases, and even lower in others (just search for FMS and im sure you'll turn it up). There are connectors for USB, serial and parallel you get to pick which you'd like.

FMS would be my choice too.
I found this link with instructions to build your own cable. I built mine and works great
