G2 Interface problems

Hello all,
I've just realized that my Eclipse is not working with G2. This is the first time I've tried using my tx with this computer. I'm running WinXP, on a computer I built myself. Anyone know of any issues?

When I plug it in, the green light on the InterLink controller does not come on. I have tried it both with my tx on and off, with the module in and out. Any ideas? Thanks, Andrew

hi andrew

I have G2 and running XP and have the eclipse 7. I tried the tx with the interface and it worked fine...the TX does have to be turned on however. you could have a bad interface...unplug the cables and reconnect.. I have on board sound but am going to add blaster sound card, everyone claims this is a big improvement.

make sure your game port is active. do you have onboard sound or plug in card. you might restall drivers for sound card. if you have onboard modem and sound could be an interrupt problem. are you using the com port or game port. this would be the problem.

good luck
joe

Joe, I too have integrated sound, but I must say I regret it! I didn't think I would mind having poor sound for a while. And I'm just wondering, will you buy a PCI card? And how will you choose to use that one instead of the integrated one?

Anyway, I don't think it's the USB port (that's what I'm using), because the game works fine with the stock Interlink Controller, it's just that the game/controller doesn't seem to be recognizing that there is an Eclipse plugged in....

And how could the sound card be causing problems with the controller? As far as I knew, the two were not related. Is that incorrect?

Thanks, Andrew

Hi,

I'm not sure about your Transmitter set up, since mine is a JR.

Before it will work, you have to go to the OPTIONS at the top of the screen and then select CALIBRATION and select your transmitter.

If you haven't already done this, you may want to give it a try.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Wayne Miller

RE: G2 Interface problems

hi andrew

sorry for confusing you on this, I forgot that this was a usb port setup. I was referring to the game port input on sound card.

to use a pci sound card you must go into you cmos setup and disable the on board sound. this is a simple thing to do. see you documentation on your computer for getting to your cmos settings. be careful here and don't change anything else. on mine during boot up I hold down the delete key. this varies with computers.

again sorry about the mis-information.

happy flying
joe
